Unter den UebrigenLow Cal Stats
Boys,
Project on the horizon:
now that we have .php and MySQL access, I'm looking towards
live stats for Low Cal. That means: you can check back at the server and see who's #1; and also: they'll be a live feed IN SERVER via the UT Screen mod (which supports .html and IRC in-game) showing who's playing and who's on top.

ImpalerFantastic man! (never stop to amaze me!)
I have a question, tho: beside me and Wint, who else knows about the new site?
And congratulations are in order (you being the founder of the Club) for 1 year of existence!!!

Unter den UebrigenImp,
No one, I think. Although if you go to the server (66.151.183.221) you'll notice a little note at the bottom. The server too is still under wraps; we'll publish it as "Low Caliber Arena" when the site is ready in a day or so.
Best,
UdÜ

Unter den UebrigenSome progress to report; small, but progress nonetheless.
We have a working http client in Rune; that means the schema will look like the following:
1) game ends, dumps stats locally;
2) game begins, http client notifies .php proxy of the local filename;
3) .php proxy requests given file from admin, admin returns as an include;
4) .php parses the include and updates the database;
5) game ends log deleted, dumps stats locally, etc.
The disadvantage is: on an incomplete game the stats won't be recorded; but I believe the picture is the same with ngStats, since the worldlog batches only at the very end of the game. We've chosen the beginning for the transaction so as to give the client and proxy enough time to interact without being cut off.
Next big decision: database format; and we have a few precedents with this one in UT. The parser is probably the lion's share of the work, but we'll take selective information; frankly, I'm not interested in when people pick things up, etc., although this might prove to be significant later.
Best,
UdÜ

Unter den UebrigenAllright, dudes. One step closer. We can actually get the server to spit out gibberish like this over the net after the end of every game:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: UnrealEngine UWeb Web Server Build 107 Content-Type: text/html 0.00 info Log_Standard ngLog 0.00 info Log_Version 1.2 0.00 info Log_Info_URL http://www.netgamesusa.com/ngLog/ 0.00 info Game_Name Rune 0.00 info Game_Version 107 0.00 info Game_Creator Human Head Studios, Inc. 0.00 info Game_Creator_URL http://www.humanhead.com/ 0.00 info Game_Decoder_Ring_URL http://www.humanhead.com/ 0.00 info Absolute_Time 2003.01.26.15.32.11.908.+1.0 0.00 info Server_ServerName Slaughty's House: Schlagfest 0.00 info Server_AdminName 0.00 info Ser
It may not look like anything; but it's the key to stats. Parse this shit and we've got a gold mine of information.
Sun January 26 2003, 08:19 AM
Unter den UebrigenWe've actually been doing this shit for months, the problem was: we didn't have any way to farm the information. Now that shit comes right into our backyard via the miracle of TCP/IP communication. We might be able to hook up a UDP in the future, but that would require a working UDP server and maybe dedicated hosting. Let's see if we can't make this work first.

ManowarHey Unter, it's a shame I don't have really any technical skills because I'd really like to help the club. Is there anything I could do?

Unter den UebrigenYou're doing business, right? What about coming up with a marketing model or ad scheme for Low Cal. Lol.

Lord WintermoonSpeaking of Low Cal and its business, I just can say, that this one here is all special. I dont know anay similar community in any game, like this, It's nice to see so many people who work together, fight and have fun and still are more than just some gamers.
We have something special here and about that we all can be proud!

KOD GildreshHi guys.
My name is Gidresh.
I'm a High Council member of
KODGamers as well as I administer our game and web servers witch I host on a T-1. Our Clan started as a Rune clan and has since widened to several other games.
I've been looming for a Rune Live View to incorparate into our web site and I stumbled upon Unter den Uebrigen post on runegame.com.
I'd really love to get my hands on the app you guys wrote and use it on our site.
I invite you all to swing by our site and check it out. you'll see that we have live views rinning for BF1942, Counter-Strike, SOF2 and RTCW. It would be so great to add A Rune live view and we'd love to add your Clan to our Preferred Clans page.
Thanks you for your time.

Well I'd love to help out with some funds but I'm reall straped for cash. I don't know what else I could offer.

But if there is a way I can help I will.
Perhaps some web or ftp space I could offer.

ManowarBy chance does our ladder software differentiate between regular kills and shishkabobs? Because I'd love to see how many of those I have, lol.
