Is it me, or does it seem they only do maintenance on the weekends?

Don't they realize that they're customers are gamers and our priming gaming time is on the weekend? sigh

Our last major move in our transfer to Peer1 is finally done. We have the 69.28.24x.x machines running out of the new location in Boston on the Private link to NYC (essentially making them be in NYC).

With that said I want to give everyone an update on future maintenance stemming from the moves we have had. The first is next week I will be moving some machines in NYC on the 65.39.207.x ip range off temporary power in NYC to solid UPS'd power. I will also be doing an OS reinstall on machine 65.39.207.22-29. Peer1 in NYC has their shiney new 40KVA UPS (about half the size of a minivan, lol) and once it is up we will be moving onto that UPS. That is epected to happen the week after next. I will post a more solid date when I get it.

In our new location with XO in Boston (Cambridge to be precise) we are running on Generator backed up power, but we have to provide our own UPS's. That turned into 11 UPS in our cage. The day we got that all set up, they got their own main UPS system for the datacenter, lol. Since that is a more solid solution, we will be moving our machines in XO Cambridge to that UPS setup off of our own 1400 and 2000VA UPS units. That is expected to happen the week after next. All of these UPS upgrades should ammount to no more than 30 minutes of downtime and I expect them to all happen before 3PM on the days they end up occuring. Once the electrical contractors are all scheduled and dates are solid I will pass them on to you.

A bit of news to keep in mind: Peer1 is working on getting a POP (point of presence) in Dallas sometime in late winter - early spring. When they do we will be re-emerging in Dallas.
