Looking for relatively cheap, ad free forums that can be installed on my site. Nothing external.

I'd love to use the ubb classic, which is similar (if not the same to this) but I don't have $199 to blow. And the fact that they charge $175 for professional installation is scary, lol.

UBB Classic is similar; ours is actually based off the higher-end Open Topic, with a MySQL backbone.

You'll need either .php or .asp to run an efficient forum; ideally with a database (MySQL, mSQL, etc.).  Post your specs and we should be able to find something professional but not over-burdensome.

well the focus of the site isn't the forums, just something to throw on a subdomain for family to keep in touch.

Mid found free, adless java forums that just may do the trick.

I believe Suddenlaunch and Conforums went ad-free recently...?

Okay, not totally ad-free, but free of pop-ups.

Yeah, CheeSe, not many really want to pay to get rid of ads though.
