Idea for the Rank Board
Perhaps a more refined formula in deciding ranks, Unter. I suggest the rank also take into consideration the amount of play time and quantity of kills/deaths.

As Master_SoS is splendidly demonstrating - ANYone can create a new persona and fight dishonorably for 4 or so games and top the chart. Perhaps those sorts of high rankings need-only apply to people with kills >= 1000 or 2000?

Just a thought, since I know when SoS started playing his big goal was to get his name on the chart. No reason to fulfill his (or others like him) wish if he/they didn't work for it.

Agreed
The having to register here to play on the server would also help with this problem. No jump in and out quick name changes.... and the people who play would be the more long term kind too...

The kills idea is one, the other was to set a minumum game requirement. (somewhere between 100 and 200)

The reasoning being you can't be considered the best unless you've played the best. (you should encounter the best in that many games..) We've also discussed losing points for each week of being idle. (to clear out those people that get a name on the scoreboard and 'retire' it)

Ohh, I like that decaying idea. As much as I respect Rev and enjoy fighting him, he just doesn't play nearly enough.

I play plenty; just never see you on. I'm in the mood now, but no one's here.

No doubt; I should underscore that we're still in functional beta.  On the horizon: more sophisticated algorhythms, search functions, and individual player pages with graphs.

It often occured to me to submit Lowcaliber to Source Forge; that way you guys can get in on the fun without having to wait for me to get down to business.

Takers?

I'm not really sure what SourceForge is (even after briefly checking the site out), but I'd like to help in any way I can.

P.S: Will I have to learn the UScript syntax and methods of programming? I'm not so sure my course load will allow me to take up another language in the near future...

Source Forge basically allows developers to collaborate on a project, giving them a unified site to collect their code and throw around ideas.

More on that later.
