Dantenah kyro, i dont think so...
also i dont think offering to clean up the dojo will be good enough...

RhoeddWhat do you mean by "one dollar a class"? Is the class the whole course, or one day's worth? If it is the whole course, is it one per weapon, or what?

MinistrationI see this turning into an 'imitated but never duplicated' situation.
Learn how to fight for yourselves - just because Rev teaches you, doesn't mean you're going to be good.

RevenantRhoedd - with a minimum of 10 people signed up, it'll be a series of classes, each a buck. People pay for games multiplayer -- and I've had enough requests/suggestions for the pay-per-class
idea that I figured I'd give it a try. What you're paying for is simply the time it takes to arrange a cirriculum, and a sort of fun environment in which each weapon can be explored. Don't like it, don't do it, but enough people have replied to me privately that it seems like it'll be a fun idea.

SuMGuYWhat they're paying for is basically finding out your secrets; doesn't mean they will be able to do them. The 'advance' moves people do are basically just precise timing and accuracy. You can always tell them but it doesn't mean they are going to do them right and become you. I've trained dozens of runers in high caliber the 'secrets' but they themselves develop their own unique style of play which is satisfying for me to see. I think it's bs you make them pay for something both should enjoy doing, but that's just my opinion. Their money and your time, so whatever. I can understand this in Warcraft 3 with hundreds of strategies involved with over 4 races combined and like 30+ units each in the races, but with a 3rd person shooter? Only strategies lie in Deathmatch maps like thorstadt, bothvar ... will you be teaching them those?

RhoeddI do not disapprove of the idea, Revenant. I consider this to be similar to fencing lessons. I am merely curious as to how much it will be in total. Like, how many classes will there be and stuff?
Sun August 24 2003, 07:31 PM
RevenantTeaching timing is a skill in and of itself.
As far as number of classes, probably a series of 10. If 10 people sign up, we'd be good to go.
And Sum -- it would be applicable to any setting, but primarily in a "fair" arena duel. Hiding in trees and leaping around corners are things for people to work with on their own, since there's no real best way. What I would discuss would be weapon priorities -- reading opponents -- and creative ways to move, as well as handicaps and advantages of each weapon. I'm hardly being totalitarian, here. Don't like it, don't contact me to join.
Gfs the other day, btw.

SkerHmmmmmm. I don't know if theres anything that you could show me that would help me as much as just getting in lots of play time. IF I was to give you the money do you honestly think you could improve my game? (by the way I have no intention of paying the money

Just wanted to know how good you think your classes will be

)

Manowar`tis a nice idea for those who care about how skilled they are.
And some nice entreprenuer skills, Rev.
I don't care about skill so much though, I play Rune for fun... and sometimes, dying a lot is pretty damn fun.

Sun August 24 2003, 10:25 PM
RevenantSeriously, I'm not trying to scam anyone -- and Rhoedd, I have given short lessons to people that allow them exceptional vision on the battlefield. I believe a multiple class cirriculum would, in fact, greatly enhance one's skill.

RevenantSorry, not Rhoedd. Sker. You skeletons all look alike.
Besides, Sker, you're damn good enough as it is. I don't like getting that handaxe buring in 3/4 of the time. :P

kyr0xx0rI just wanted to ad that i have gotten a couple pointers from rev in the past. Its pretty amazing what he can do with 15 minutes of your time. I learned alot.

Mon August 25 2003, 06:17 AM
Lord WintermoonCharging for those game styles? LOL! Sorry but even if I would need it (this doesn't mean that I consider me as a good fighter), I don't like the idea. But well, go ahead. If you have enough to teach, why not.
Mon August 25 2003, 09:44 AM
RhoeddAnd he certainly does.
Revenant has given me a fair number of lessons (free), although I'm afraid that the only time I allocate the mental power necessary to attempt to apply them is when I am fighting someone with his skill or nearly so.
Mon August 25 2003, 09:59 AM
YellowHairSounds like a great idea, Rev, good luck on it.
