BTW... Most Maya created animations are done on a G5 Macintosh Processor becauseeeeee they are stronger and more powerful then a P4 or AMD.

If I was stricly a graphics and design guru I would get a mac, but there is nothing like building your own beast and playing games on it.

On the other hand, Mac comes since OS X with a linux-like stability:

hahaha well i thought it was funny because it just shows how ignorant some people can be about a macintosh, things are operated different to a PC so why not learn them both. This guy obviously thinks he is the funniest guy for pointing out the obvious when really his mind is trained to use a pc and cant get his head around an operating system which would probably work better if he A: he didnt have a hate for macs to begin with. and B: take the time out to learn how the system operates.

its not like anyone forces macintosh on anyone and having people like that setting the side between mac and pc just shows ignorance. if this guy was shown how to tie his shoes a different way he would be tripping over himself because he is so accustomed to what he has been brought up with and what to belive.

I should have had a pic of my desktop before August 2003. I had both on the desk here and went back and forth with no problem. It was awesome. Now the iMac is upstairs and will soon be getting a Panther put inside it .

No, just all my life I have used crappy crashy macs at school, presumably because of a low budget. Then later when I worked for the school district and went around fixing them they had some damn ass annoying problems that I thought would have been a lot easier to fix on a PC. So most of my mac experience is frustation and stuff.
Plus there is nothing like building your own PC beast and getting it running perfectly with your own specs and stuff. That is one thing I hate most of all, the pre-built crap. I Macs are have always been like that but I also don't like the pre built HPs and stuff people get....

your right about it being pre built socket, isnt really much u can do to change stuff on a mac like upgrade processors etc. but hey its nice to have a choice between mac and pc, and the compatibility now is great, have u had a shot of osx yet? its alot better than any other os, i honestly had problems with mac in college too because they were all os9 and u couldnt do much without it crashing if u had 2 progs open @ once it would shit itself, but now its just as easy to use and alot more bug free it might change what u think about macs they arent a bad machine .........now

I think I'll stick with PC for now, or maybe a PC and a MAC. At least until I grow out of gaming so much.

I might actually consider a second mac these days, now that OSX opened up a command line.  You can ssh to your linux machine and get some shit done.

Whoops, should have clarified: “mac as a second computer.”  I recently optimized a website for the major linux and windows browsers, only to be told that it looked completely off on mac! Some mac fluency may well become incircumventable soon.
