Guys im looking to spend about 500aus on a digital camera, what exactly do i loook for to make sure i make a good purchase? someone said mega pixel but im sure that only if u are making huge pics if your a professional photographer.

Hey, I got a friend who got a Sony Cybershot model last year, and I think it's in that price range...pure camera I think...

On the other hand, if you also want a bit of moviemaking, then the Canon Powershot and Fujifilm Finepix series are good, with a bit of avi recording, depending on your format...
Not that much compromise on quality but may be a bit above your price range? They all can't take pictures of moving targets very well, and unless it has 'macro' function, anything close will be blurry too.

Yeah dont forget the battery and interface; you might prefer a Li-ion batt instead of re-charging those AAA's...but again, that might raise the budget bar a bit...

my junior year of highschool i worked in "Best-Buy" and sold digital cameras.

your purchase should reflect it's function. if you are just experimenting with the field i would suggest a 2-3 megapixel digital camera with maybe 2-3x optical zoom.

such a camera will provide you with above average picture quality and you get to bypass the expensive film that is a hidden cost when buying opticals. don't overlook the optical zoom ither, it allows you to enlarge the image without loosing picture quality.

a camera with features i listed obove would probably run from 180 - 250 us, depending on the brand and age of the model / size.

good brands: olympus, sony, cannon
mediocre brands: kodac, pentax, fuji, hp.

Looks like the remains of what was a bunch of exotic fruits consumed by a herbivore. I see fibres and seeds. This is what I am guessing from my training in tracking wildlife.

But it does seem almost fungal with a bacteria growth.

It just looked like a bunch of dead duckies' beaks bundled in the... err, something, at first glance. Now it just looks like a pine cone-y thing, probably 3-5 inches, yay.....
