It's still in the finishing touches; hop on and see what you think. TODO: individual detail pages with a link from the status bars to graphs, etc.
Problems? post here.

Eventually; now it leads, I believe, to the general stats page.
A search function would be handy, too; allow you to pull up, say, your own name on the fly.

MinistrationI'm ranked 1208? Dayam... or am I not looking at the right numbers?

Unter den Uebrigen“Rank” is your adjusted score, after the skill of your opponents and win to loss ratio is taken into account; the number to the left, when sorted by rank, shows you your standing.

RhoeddI still can hardly believe that there are one thousand five hundred people that play on the Low Caliber server. I haven't met a fraction of that number of players.
Someone mentioned that the ranking was based on the chess system, and that it started at one thousand two hundred. What's this all about?

Unter den UebrigenHere's a nice
general introduction on the ELO rating system.
As it stands, I decided to give each newcoming player the benefit of the doubt and place them at 1200 to start; now it appears, however, as if we should start each player at a "provisional" level until they achieve x amount of games. We might further decide to let only fights against rated players count; and that players with more established playing times move less radically up and down.

Rhoedd Rhoedd grins. That sounds good to me.

MisanthropeMy stats seem completely inaccurate, as I've played far more than 27 games. What's the exact starting date of the compiled stats? Seems like it should be pretty far back, as there are still three forms of Revenant listed.

MidknightIf you all can think a little. With every program designed there are always complications and bugs. Please sit still and we will figure them out. If anything please tell us odd happenings and how you came upon them. That is the only way we can figure out a solid answer to your problem. The stats are a little weird right now because of some bugs. Not to worry your real stats are written to a log file once we get the stats program debugged we will have the correct stats.
Everytime you come in as a different name you make a new stats record. If you wish to keep your stats and have them please stay with one name.
The stats are aways back. Thats what I know of since Feburary 2003 till now. Perhaps further I am not sure.

MinistrationHere's an oddity that you might wanna look into... well, I'm sure it's not an oddity, but it sure could use tweaking.
My rank was 1409 in one game (I made the in-game chart!!) But then all the regulars left and I played in a game with a bunch of people with rankings of around 1100.
I won 3 games with 21 kills and an average of 9 deaths and my rating is now like 1323...

Danteyep mini, unter's well aware of the fluctuations and i've spammed his mailbox a bit...several things are being looked into...its up to him what and when he discloses, but from what i've heard it sounds very good...especially read his previous post in this thread and you'll roughly see...
in the meantime, keep playing and find out more of this stuff..

we're worried people would start avoiding fights against lower ranked, or go purely head-hunting....and go prissily prey on the "ragnars" and "generics"...
fair enough, but whoever

does so loses my respect and shouldnt even bother playing...

MidknightI will fight anyone high or low in ranking. It is the same old game just with a visual of how well you are doing. This rank isn't going towards anything besides your own personal knowledge of how you are fairing up. Don't be scared away from anyone with a higher rank or lower rank. You are purely playing the game as it has always been.

RhoeddSome of us have no desire to have the knowledge of just how bad of players we are shoved into our faces. Happily, I am no such person. I'm perfectly happy with the sorry state of my skill being broadcasted to the world.
It's especially sorry after a day of fighting Ministration, such as today.
Sun July 27 2003, 08:47 PM
YellowHairHumphh... this is not going to look good for people who only get on at three to five in the morning to work off the frustrations of a bad day by messily killing and getting killed... playing till eyelids droop and mouth hangs dumbly open... till reaction time drops through the floor and you're a feebly moving sitting duck in the arena, merely providing target practice for the more awake and skilled...
This isn't going to do any wonders for my ego... *sniffle*
But ahh well, t'is all fun and games anyhow... bleah...
*goes to prey on the more weak and sickly*
Sun July 27 2003, 09:33 PM
FaisonYikes!!! Geez guys it seems that we never cared about who we fought before the stats came into existance. I for one could care less. I suck against the good players and the bad. What it's about is the ability to vitually run someone through and enjoy it ( devilish grin) without getting in trouble.
Sun July 27 2003, 09:40 PM
YellowHairDon't worry, I for one will still run blindly on to my doom at the hands of the top-notchers...
Sun July 27 2003, 09:55 PM
MidknightWell said Faison.
Thats what I mean. You never cared about the score anyway when you played before the stats, so why bother getting upset over the stats now. No one is pointing at you and go "na na a boo boo you got 1000 for a rank!" I for one just wanted to see how many I killed with the boneclub and the shorty. A rank never came to mind. So please people don't take the stats as an offencive tool. I want to see players as they were before we updated. I want to see "Good Fight!!", "Nice One!!" and lots of laughs.
