Time to hold off a little on the attachments.  Let's try self-policing before we bring down the clamps.

It could be that we need to grow to a bigger plan.

Wondering: Does the presence of the archives hurt the bandwidth?

How about zapping the older attachments. Alot of sites do that and it saves on the clutter. Most of them can be downloaded and then archived on disk. Hell even the oldest posts can be done the same way, maybe?

That's a good idea, Fais; since most of our attachments here are images, we can specify that you have to click on the attachment to actually see the image.  That way we won't waste bandwidth bringing up a message; and people that are interested can still click on it.

Disk space isn't yet a problem.

Actually, the images don't seem to be the problem; even without them we're still consuming a healthy 200-300 MB per day.  Let's wait it out this month (it's only $5 per excess gig); and should we bust our belts in November, we'll upgrade to a slightly more spacious plan.
