OK here is my situation.
Evil Hackers deleted my network card drivers (or corrupted dunno which). I am not tech-like so I had to get a friend to fix it for me. After fixing I aquired ZoneAlarm and started some detective work. In my first 8 hours after reinstall I logged (and hard-copied) over 1200 attempts to hack into my comp.
As you can imagine..... I'm mad.
Anyways to make a long story short.... no online games for me because I'm TOO fed up.
Honestly i have no idea who I pissed off by being me, but I will soon. Come new years I will "sub-legally" aquire a prog which converts IP's to home address and phone number. Then some one will get a nice present from me in person .
I may not be a techie but I LOVE!!!!!!! to beat people when it's justified. I have equal parts anger and vacation time saved up, so lock yer doors cock-hacker..... I'll be there soon.
Anyway now that ya all know see ya. I will miss the gf's and may be back someday. (once i literally hack a hacker, I may not be allowed out for 25+ hehe)

I will still sporadically check this here forum, but i cannot re-install Rune till I sever the bad end of my internet. I really hope that butt-hacker puts up a decent fight, because I don't want to hurt some defenseless wuss.

Hahaha that'd be so fun man. Judging by his method of attacking you, I would assume he's just some pathetically weak computer geek with too much spare time. Be sure to pick him up and show him you can toss him around a few times before you actually do any damage. Half the fight is head games.

Mister Fister, you do realize that the majority of those hack attempts (which Yellowhair and I also get and which are blocked and logged by Zonealarm) are not from people you know? In fact, it's likely that none of them are.

Regardless of whether or not some people you play hate you, the majority of us love you. You can safely play Rune, and almost all other games, online without fear of being hacked, as long as you have your firewall enabled. We too have Zonealarm, and we never, ever disable it. The only problem we've ever encountered with it is that you cannot ever host, at least not without significant know-how. Ask Unter if you really want to find out how; I don't know myself. But my point is, please keep on playing!

during the 8 hours when all those hits happened my roomie was online for the same time and only got 17 attempts. Now the only reason I could figure it would be so dramatically( sp ) different is that he doesn't play Rune much. We were both connected through the same router, so it really seems like they're picking on me in specific. Now another point.... I know I can still play Rune, but most of the fun for me is building new maps and then hosting them for testing. Now that brings about the firewall problem, because I don't know how to get two way communication with protection as well .
Ah well, we shall see how the ball bounces when I get that IP tracer. Even if I just mail them a dead thing or something I'll probably be happy.

I made an interesting comparison the other day at work. Hacking me is like Arnold Schwartz-and-egger
beating up a 4 year old. Easy but not very rewarding. Actually, hacking me shows very little "hacking" skill at all lol. Probably some little eleven year old whose parents won't give him/her/it a cookie or sumthin.

Also just to clear something up... I'm posting this here as an explanation of my absentia, not because I think I know the hacker... honestly I don't care if I know him/her/it anyways. I've hit more people I know than people I don't lol

Router ehhh???? Does it have a built in Firewall. If so there will be a log of the ip connecting to it. Then I would suggest getting me sometime and I will give you an IP Tracer then you can have a closer idea of whats going on. Also I would get software firewall from myself and put that on too. Another thing is update your routers firmware. This will update the software inside the router to understand more port access and block them further. If and only if you are getting direct attacks then I would suggest contacting there Service Provider. But if it is like Ping of Deaths then well you can contact the ISP anyway and find out why and not worry about them. I have had many attacks and most are just the net farting into the infinite beyond and causing a disturbance in the balance of data transfer.

Send a dead... Say, that's a good idea. Or, save your shit in a plastic garbage bag for a few weeks, then send your assailent daily samples.

Or, if they own a dog, cover the Bag-O-Shit(TM) with some sort of meat or something, and give it to the dog. That'll make an instant mess.
