I remember complaints from both Mano and Woody about the damn load screens every time you want to play the game. So I decided to Bink up all 4 dummy files to replace BF1942's files. I never had a problem with the intros, but since I play the game a lot now, it is just stupid to watch the movies all the time. My files are 4 two-frame *.bik's with just the Battlefield 1942 logo on a black background... fast, pleasant, and nice looking.

I know we have some new recruits (Midknight and, soon, Emrys) so you guys should fetch these files, too.

Archive Contents: EA.bik, Dice.bik, Intro.bik, Legal.bik.

Unzip all 4 *.bik files into "\Battlefield 1942\Movies"

Prior to that, if you want, backup the real files in case
you want them back (you won't ever need them though).

OK, well there are a couple of more annoyances with BF1942... the most minor of minor annoyances, I say. However, I just took the incentive to fix them and distribute them publicly! Or just to the fellow LCC BF-Elite .

READ THE 'README-CONTENTS' & 'README-MUSIC' *.txt FILES!!!11

Now, for those who read the readme.txt files... you'll know what this is for. This is a replacement for Battlefield 1942's Load Screen Music. In the 'README-MUSIC.txt', I wrote out how to replace the menu's music so you should have a clear understanding of how to insert this file.

If you don't know how to plop this music file in, just refer to 'README-MUSIC.txt' in the archive... here's just a summary:

Replace 'Vehicle4.bik' in \mods\bf1942\music\, \mods\XPack1\music\ & \mods\XPack2\music\.

By the way, this file comes from CS: Condition Zero. I do NOT play Counter-Strike, I just have a 'pirated' copy laying around and its so easy to rip off their sounds. That's about all CS is good for .
