Never realised I'm quite the carnivore, but:
-avian flu means people are wary of chicken products...
-'mad cow' means the vCJD is scaring beef away from the menu...
-something up with Atlantic tuna?
-sheep is considered an oddity locally, compared to Australia...
-recent reports denounce the treatment of pig feed in mainland China, which is a main exporter of pork to Taiwan...
-dog is off the menu, enforced by the law recently (kidding, I've never tasted Lassie)...
-turkey and wild game is unheard of hereabouts...
-kangaroo jerky tastes like crap...
Is someone telling me to exercise those molars and de-evolve into herbivore land?
Your incisors and thoughts appreciated.

RevenantIf aliens came down to earth to harvest you for your meat, and in order to control and cage you cut off various bits of your body and forced you to breed and fed you recycled bits of other humans who had already been fed to the alien populace... you'd be pretty upset, right?
Yeah, it's like that for other animals, too.

Don't tell me you're PETA or something...
Animals were put here for our use/enjoyment. Eat up!

ManowarMeat is grand, I like to eat it by the buckets.
I really like to eat dolphins... especially when it's in my tuna fish - none of that dolphin free junk.
I'll be right back, I'm going to BBQ a 22 ounce porterhouse.

MidknightWell there is nothing like Wild Game. WOOOHOOOO!!!!
Give me a Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer,Antelope, Canadian Moose, or Elk (Wapiti) any day. The best thing going. Why not either. 20 - 35 dollars each for a tag and you get 120 lbs. of meat from whitetail Deer, 150 lbs. from a mule deer, 100 lbs. from an antelope, 500 lbs. from a moose and 250 lbs from an elk. Can't get any better of a deal then that. Oh and forgot the feeling of the hunt is extremely satisfying. BLOOD!!!!

Mr_FisterThis is my personal opinion, so no offense to those of you who don't like meat.....
Carnivores have the eyes in the front of their head (mostly) so they can look for prey. Herbivores have eyes on the sides for 360 degree vision, so they can see carnivores like me coming to get them! My teeth were not designed to rend carrots either hehe, besides , stalking carrots is not much of a challenge. The only reason we need veg or vitamins is because we stopped eating the stomachs (or contents ) of our prey.
Besides!!! Meat is a great way to try different sauces!!!

ps off topic for Dante..... how do you spell dijeridoo? (that funny aussie tube o' sound)

Hilarious!! This comment and all the ones above, very humorous indeed!!

Fist: type 'didgeridoo' or 'didjeridu' into Google.com.au and get plenty of links, most of which coincides pretty much with what I know; history, make, etc..
Best ones come from the eucalyptus trees naturally hollowed out by termites, in the Northern Territory...sound is really exotic and hauntingly melodic when combined with a nice background beat...I've heard it combined with bossa nova, classical wind instruments, even jazz (LOL).

Oh yeah, there's a tour in Northern Territory where they take you out into the bush, look for one of those eucalyptus trunks, make it and learn basic play...

SocketboyYeah those are tight. I knew some peeps from down under and got to play theirs once. Cool sound

ManowarI ate around 20 hot wings at the bar last night... do you know how many chickens that came from? BWAHAHAHA!
Sun January 25 2004, 09:18 PM
MidknightOnly 20

My friends and I went to this bar for 5 cent wings and ordered 300 between the three of us. Name the flavour and we had it, even suicide. I had to sign a consent form to eat them and was only allowed 5 LOL!!!!
Sun January 25 2004, 09:21 PM
DanteWhat drink goes best with them wings?
Yeah, I'm missing the chicken protein, hehe, as some of you know.
Sun January 25 2004, 09:41 PM
Manowar20 is definitely not the most wings I've ever eaten. Some places, (Hooters, for example), give you both parts of the wing and call it just one wing. Last night they were giving out free popcorn so I had a buttload of that. No need to stuff myself on overpriced wings, lol.
Lol, and Dant', the drink of choice last night was good ol' Miller Lite... and jagermeister.

DanteAhh, I see...I've been having the ol' root beer since a long while back now...
Jeez, been thinking about that Hog's Breath steakhouse in Sydney and Perth (no commission but yeah!!)...good service, beaut' dijon sauce, lol..

No, I just have a shred of compassion and self-control.
Rev
p.s. To assume that things in this world were "put here" for the enjoyment of humans is exactly the mindset that's going to have us all living in shitty domes ten years from now because the air outside is full of what was once the condensed bones of dinosaurs.
Mon January 26 2004, 04:06 PM
SocketboyHey now, are you saying that I don't have a shred of compassion and/or self control?
Because I do.
I am not saying torture the animals or that feeding them their ground up cousins is a good idea, I am just saying that they probly don't have enough brain matter to really care or realize such things. And seriously, why would a cow be here if not for food? it isn't like they are some endangered species or anything. So that is the cow's purpose, to make me a milkshake then become my prime rib.

YUmm!
PS Domes rock! and they are making better cleaner cars and stuff all the time! woot for technology
