Hey - I guess it will be nice to talk about our favorites in books.
Here`s mine: my favorite and i think the best book ever is "The Saracen Blade", Frank Yerby 1952. Now I`m trying to find the same movie in the Net, but it isn`t easy cuz it was made in 1954 by Frank Yerby as a scenario writer. My advise to all history likers - find and read it cuz it`s the most interesting and reliable book.
Second book that I love is "Tom Soyer", I know that I am too old for it but I still regard it.
Third book is clearly non-belles-lettres (I hope it is the right word) called "History of Tampliers" by Marion Melville.

Lately I'm really picky about what I read, I mean, it is often, taht just a particular book by an author is my like and the rest, is well, not that interesting.

But anyway, this topic/post should be held warm and uptodate, because I love such discussions. Mabye we make a I'm Reading now - thread?

"Daemon" and "demon" are mostly the same word, except "demon" can't be used like "daemon" in computer science. "Deamon" isn't even a word at all. Here's a dictionary excerpt so I don't have to write:

Notice that "daemon" in computers is one that sits idly until it needs to perform its task (such as Daemon Tools or the Print Spooler). A demon sure as crap doesn't do that... more like it just lights your CPU on fire or something.

In other news, I picked out a book at the library called "Fallen Angels". It's a Vietnam War book following a black guy in the war (yep). Should be cool because it's for school . That's about the only reading I'll be doing (however there is this nice little book called 'Hacker Diaries', something about confessions of teenage hackers that a friend recommended... only other PC-related book is a Maya 4.5 manual... but I lost my ID card so I can't check crap out anyway). I'm not much into reading and I loathe fiction as its all the literature state wants to recommend in schools... so maybe a nice Hitler book will do me well at best when it comes to reading.

Friedrich Nietzsche: Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

I love to read books on Quantum Physics and Chaos Theory, and the latest I'm reading is an easy read/ very interesting.
It is called "The Quantum and The Lotus". Co-autored by Matthieu Ricard and Trinh Xuan Thuan, it is a disussion between a Buddist monk who ditched his robes to become a scientist and a scientist who became a Buddist monk. Very well written, and you can tell they had a blast bouncing ideas/ideology back and forth.

Some others I read/have read:
1) Adbusters - monthly mag of what the Govt doesn't want you to know hehe.
2) The Elegant Universe : Brian Greene - awesome book explaining Quantum Physics and String Theory in dummy terms . It is also a series on TV (based on book).
3) R.A. Salvatore - almost anything by him is awesome, but recommended is the Dark Elf Trilogy which ended up being about 15 books.

Read a lot!!!! Our brainz are mostly empty so fill em' up!

I liked the myst books actually.

Hey Shady - here's Dostoevskii. I made it on my literature lesson so it isn't very good (drawn by pen and doesn't realy look like Dostoevskii did) but I still think it looks nice.

i personally couldn't get through Greene's Elegant Universe. It was ok in the start but completely incomprehensible as it went on.

I also like the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Edgar Allen Poe, and Paul Graham. I have yet to buy any of Graham books, so far I've only read some of his essays.
