ManowarDiscussion on 7 player limit
This got me thinking:
> {Blade}Jaguar_Blade: the server seems to be slowing down these days
> Ministration: yea i've noticed a few times
We've had a fair amount of people complaining about the lag recently but they were mostly lamers or guys that were complaining about everything they could.
I personally haven't noticed a difference in the server since the player limit was raised. How about you guys? (Not preference based on gameplay but how is your actual performance holding up?)
The last thing I want to have is the reputation for unreliability that RoV has. I also don't want to look like a 'homegrown' server...

Dantehey dudes, i love 7 people especially when members around, because the more the merrier...
thats by far outweighs most of the following lag-related points...
with my dial-up, often when in the middle of a fight, my ping spikes because someone is entering or leaving the arena...that's irritating but tolerable for sure...
secondly...the increase in ping is, for me, really only about 50 points or so...i'm pretty slaughterable anyways...
thirdly, 7 people allows some morons to sway people new to the arena to evil, and allows these morons to reconnect when kicked for insufferably poor behaviour...
really my gripe is with that last point...so i dearly wish for 7 people when member predominant, but somehow have less when less mebers? i realise such fluidity is hard to achieve, but just putting in my 2 cents...

Unter den UebrigenEspecially if we can realize our ambitions of an "inter-Arena Arena" style game in the middle, I think a lot of that will clear up.
When seven guys crowd a ring + corpses + discards, the weaknesses of our present technological and network state are exacerbated.
