It could be your video card/drivers/DirectX.

But you better check first if your CPU is overheated.

Do you have Halls of Valhalla installed? Did you patch Rune to one point oh seven before you did? What was the version before you patched it? What are your system specifications?

suggestion: how about trying to play in software rendering mode for a while? you might crash a lot less, or almost none..
