Map Title: DM-Roadhouse.run

Author: Matthew Ellis AKA Idometrius

E-mail: idometrius@home.com

Gametype: Deathmatch

Number of Players: 4-10

INSTRUCTIONS: Extract the DM-Roadhouse.run file into your 'Maps' directory (located within the directory where you installed Rune). Extract the roadhouse2.uax file into your sounds directory. Extract the roadhouse.utx file into your textures directory.

SPECIAL NOTE: THIS MAP INCLUDES NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS AND MONSTERS. IN ORDER FOR THESE TO WORK PROPERLY IN A MULTIPLAYER GAME, THE SERVER'S RUNE.INI FILE MUST BE ALTERED SLIGHTLY. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE THE WAY THE GAME PERFORMS IN YOUR NORMAL MULTIPLAYER GAMES, IT WILL JUST MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO INCLUDE MONSTERS IN THE MAP. TO MAKE THE PROPER CHANGE, OPEN UP YOUR RUNE.INI FILE IN NOTEPAD, FIND THE SECTION LABELED [RuneI.RuneMultiPlayer] AND CHANGE THE SETTINGS SO THEY LOOK LIKE THIS:

[RuneI.RuneMultiPlayer]
bNoMonsters=False
bHumansOnly=False

THIS ONLY NEEDS TO BE DONE FOR THE SERVER, ALL PLAYERS JOINING YOUR GAME DO NOT NEED TO MAKE THIS CHANGE... I REPEAT, ONLY THE SERVER NEEDS TO MAKE THIS ALTERATION. ALTHOUGH THIS MAP WILL WORK WITHOUT MAKING THE CHANGE, THE CREATURES, BOUNCERS, AND OTHER INTERACTIVE SURPRISES INCLUDED IN ROADHOUSE WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY, OR THE WAY THEY WERE INTENDED IF THE SERVER DOES NOT MAKE THIS CHANGE... AND THAT WOULD BE TRAGIC.

I CANNOT, AND WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU HOSE YOUR RUNE.INI FILE. IF YOU'RE NOT 100% SURE HOW TO DO THIS, ASK A FRIEND OR GO PLAY THIS MAP ON SOMEONE ELSE'S SERVER.

OFFICIAL RULES FOR ROADHOUSE DARTS:
Roadhouse includes a fully functioning dartboard for handaxes, so I thought I'd include a set of rules for anyone that wants to play a 'standardized' game of 'chuck the ax'.

1. Roadhouse darts is for 2 players.
2. Each player picks a color (red or green).
3. Each turn, a player throws an ax at the board and tries to hit their color.
4. If they hit their selected color, they get a point.
5. If they hit the opponent's color, they get nothing.
6. If they miss the board COMPLETELY, their OPPONENT gets a point.
7. If the ax sticks in BOTH colors (a border shot), the color closest to the top of the HANDLE is scored.
8. If if a border shot is too close to call, a re-throw may be attempted if BOTH players agree, or if a third person (acting as a referee) so decrees.
9. An ax that does not stick in the board, falling to the ground, is called a 'bounce out' and may be rethrown... but only once.
10. Two consecutive bounce outs count as missing the board completely.
11. First player with 11 points wins.

Enjoy!

I don't normally do this in my readme files, but I had a LOT of support and input on this map, and it was a MAMMOTH project, so I gotta says some thanks. Call it pretentious if you will, I just call it being gracious to those that were there for you.
