I have been experimenting with several models and skins and have notice something interesting. My performance suffers, only slightly, when I use the Zombie model. Could there be something related between performance and models? For example, does it take more resources to play with a Zobie as opposed to a Rangar. I have also notices some models appears to perform certain tasks better. For Example, DanteER has better jumping capabilities with the Sark. Maybe it is just me, but I was wondering if anyone noticed.

I believe this is the unreal engine at its best. Not only are the models controlled by the engine but also brought to life with all the AI performance code in the engine. ex. Gravity, Weight, Height etc. Calulations will probably show that there is in fact a difference between all models, even each Ragnar. You can see it in all of the unreal engine based games. I have certainly noticed it in Unreal, UT, UT2003, Devastation and Rune.

There more than likely is a difference in all skins but it has to be slight. Because I've encountered all skins many times and I've never thought to myself "damn SarkSpawns are always good" or "Karls are always crappy". (but those Karls ARE always curious)

eh, you get my point. Eek

lol, the most curious ones are the elder skins...

not many people jump to them, but of the ones who do...95% are *very* (cough!) strange...

its partially a psychological edge too...eg you see a sarkspawn slash away with the shortsword (eg TwEaK!, lagmeat, bloodhunter) and if you see them win enough ('cos of skill), you begin to have a niggling thought at the back of your mind...

BTW, i remember in quake somehow you could call up the framerate to show in the corner...anyone please tell me how for rune (unreal engine)? i wish to do so to compare performances systematically...

and is UT2003 any good? i ask this of fellow Rune-lovers...

i've always preferred elder type skins in all the games i play. something to do with the mentality of experience versus youthful vigor. i find that my experience generally chops vigor to little bits. BTW i have two elder based skins that i would really like to use, is there any way i could get them uploaded to the server??? plz?

UT2003 is awesome. But don't be jumping on it so soon there is UT2004 coming out. HEHEHEHE Wicked stuff those Unreal Engine team members can throw out.

ok so ya got it going..... care to share hehe?
This is a bitter point for me, as too often people say thx for solutions but never fill in the rest of us as to which solution worked and which did not. Remember, all these posts are prime references for later Smile.

tab commands are "stat net" and "stat fps"

with spaces, not underscores in between them, and without the quote marks of course...

All the models have the same capabilities (ex: speed, jump, crouch, sight-radius...). It's the mesh (diferent size and collision effect) that make the diferences -but only for your eyes.

another console command is "timedemo 1" without quote marks and with a space in between the two words...it'll give an averaged fps thing on the right-hand side of the screen...

apologies if you already know this, i've just been tweaking stuffing out of my rune, thats all...
