| i like! really good start. (better than my first map... glad nobody will ever see it.) i noticed some bugs. you should make the stuff unbreakable. a really cool addon would be an outdoor scene. keep it going! i can't handle the editor and i'm always glad to see people who can. *lol* buggy.jpg (37 Kb, 333 downloads) |

| Thankya! I purposefully didn't even look into making objects unbreakable because I do love to smash things... but yah, maybe some things shouldn't be bashable... *sigh* Errrm outdoors... don't think I know how to do that yet. We'll see... |

| nice yellow, good first map simple and yet tyou learned some basics. If you ever need a hand, I'll walk you on vent with some other basics that seem harder at first but save loads a time.
Can't wait on the next one. |

| Okay, well, I like it. I should try, although my contempt for the awful RuneEd camera (imo) makes me not want to... we'll see. And TeT, your mspaint skills never fail to impress. Keep at it, ol' chap (but please... please download Photoshop )! |

| *mumble grumble* I have a problem... on me new lil' map, I assigned different nutrition values to the food, as well as changed sound for some. Both effects worked fine when I tested them from the editor, but when the map is on its own neither are working. Any ideas why and how to fix it... if I can't get this working I'm going to need to rethink a large portion of this map I'm currently working on. Would be too much food lying around if they're on full value... The way I did was right click on a food item, properties - food - nutrition - number. Values are pretty random, no set number for any specific type. For the sound, I had just turned off the drinking sound of the stein, if the nutrition value was zero. Again, worked fine in editor, not in other server. |

| Try this Yellow.
Don't change the item's properties after you place them on the map. Instead change the properties in the classes menu on the right before you place them. That will tell the engine/map to use that default setting everytime they respawn. That setting should remain with the map until you change the properties in the classes menu.
It also helps if you are going to have multiple items with exactly the same custom properties. It makes it easier to place them instead of going to each individual actor and changing their properties.
If, on the other hand you are going to have several of the same items that will have different properties, then the way Fist-meister descibed is the best way. Create a new sub-class under the items your using. You can do this multiple times for any item. That way it may look the same but it has different properties i.e. sounds, damage, hits, structual intergrity, nutritional value, or lighting.
Whew! I hate typing. Try that let me know if it works. |

| Thankya Fister and Fais... got the food all working correctly now (I hope). Also managed to make a permanently silent Rune... Here's the map I was working on. I've had this tested to hell and back, so hopefully there's less bugs and things to pick at this time! Sidenote: Most things are deliberately breakable. I like to smash things, okay? Sidenote2: The more obvious food has lesser value then the hidden/less accessible stuffs... DM-WarriorBarracks.zip (101 Kb, 31 downloads) |
