You can try Fraps but the output AVI is huge: around 40 Mb for 8 seconds of movie in Rune (640x480 ingame resolution).

Manowar my system is capable to take multiple screenshots. Fast enough to make a slightly cool gif animation of a fight. I just took a 6 shots of game play last time i was in the arena for kicks and it turns out that i can hack taking screeners quickly.

Wid from Texas here...I have used Camtasia recently, and I would say it does a pretty good job. It is somewhat limited on the export options, but it does give you a little flexibility on the output size(i.e. resolution). Also, sometimes setting up your screen captures can be a challenge. I might still have a copy of it on my back-up server. I will let ya know what I find.

Mano, you mentioned the other day in the arena that you were get a "choppy" recording using Camtasia. If you change your fps to 80 and set the compression to "better" and not "faster", then the recording should be very smooth. The downside is the file will be somewhat larger, but that might be a small price to pay for a great video. You can also convert the avi into a more portable format.

i would say 30 fps see our eye doesnt recognize 80 fps much so no diff in quaility butt much less in space and smoother recording

Yours eyes may not, but codecs and compression does. 30 fps still creates some "laggy" videos. Best thing really is to play with it.

You have to match your screen refresh rate with live caption on a monitor. Or you will get the lag and the refreshing lines will be the lag basically then we can port the video to .asf or jpeg movie which ever you want.

hmm.. thanks Widow. I'll have to get on that when I get a chance. I have possible ways of compressing the video in a different program after recording it in camtasia so we'll see what happens.
