It's a little thing that's supposed to go in my Gnome panel (taskbar, or whatever you guys call it in windows and tell me when people are playing on LCC's servers. It doesn't actually work in my gnome panel yet, but I have it coming up in a separate window.
The button on the left is LCA, the one on the right is the cycle server. Smiley == people playing, moon == nobody. Click on a button and a window like the one on top is displayed.
I doubt any of you play Rune on Linux, but if you're interested, let me know and I'll make a nice package of it for download. :-)

Shame I run under KDE though, don't think that'd work out, eh? Otherwise, me would ask. But but but, it'll be cool if you could toss the one you have working out now, that'd be coo' cool .
Plus, no Linux Rune for me I have absolutely no way of getting it !!! Would be ever so awesome though .
The applet only shows kracker (while the website shows someone else) because it only updates every 90 seconds (maybe I should set it higher... I'll do the math and figure out exactly how much bandwidth it uses per month).
Anyway, it's not in a releasable state; there are a bunch of hard-coded paths to my home directory and stuff. If someone actually wants to use it, I'll package it up nice.
BTW: 160 lines of Python code (including blank lines and comments) to implement the entire thing.

Noice job mang!!! I was once a Linux user. I will have to tell you my story on ventrilo sometime. I just want to ask? Whats the distro you use and what would you suggest.

Hmm. assuming 6k per request, at 90 seconds between requests, that's 178MB a month (if my math is correct). more than I feel good about using I'll up it to 5 minutes.
Hmm... Still 50-some MBs. Maybe I can make it more "request" oriented, so I have to click a button for it to enable checking.

I use Debian, but I'm out of the distribution suggestion business. ;-) I do think Debian's the best to use, but it's got a larger learning curve than most.
:-( It's too bad there's no Ventrilo Linux port.

LOL Okay so I got Mandrake running last night. I was under GNOME (which with the High Contrast b&w theme it looks sooo awesome) and was considering asking you for the applet.
Next thing you know, something gets out of whack and I'm fux0r3d again. Always me , plus I was dumb enough to forget to unmount my 120gb from this pc so evidentally it always wanted to mount the SMB filesystem at boot and when I hit enter to escape it, it bitches like a mofo and la-dee-da. So now, bah! So I didn't expect to ever want it again but I'm persistent, so it would be cool if you upload the good ol' applet ! (I'm sure it'll run under KDE, ja? No more gnome, it crawls compared to KDE.)
