So as some of you guys may know, I do a lot of skinning for the weapon, player and object models in Counter-Strke Source. Quite a few people use my skins, including buddies in HVH that play CS: Source. Mano insisted I upload my skins onto here (I uploaded old versions onto hl2world.com... that place is full of the stupidest people you'll ever meet, despite how much they try to say otherwise).
I made an arctic AK47 a long time ago and got pretty tired of the slide and other things, so I recently remade it. My Terrorist skin is completely redone and it now complies to the standards based on the Arctic CT I am using with it. I've skinned my computer and put it in the game and many other things.
Here, I'll upload 5 skins in one pack. Screenshots and readme are in the pack and the only skin not made by me is the Arctic CT (credit in readme). The screenshots will be uploaded in this post and the actual files in the other post. Only two of us play so obviously you guys won't download, but I had to post the work I'm doing... maybe a non-player can post appreciation for it, too.
Here's the files to use. Just read the readme and you're all set. I won't release these files seperately, so people who want only a certain gun can just get the pack and choose what to extract using drag-and-drop.
Here's a little more detail as to what I did to the guns:
AK-47:
Changed stocks and handle to white (arctic)
Changed slider to white instead of pee-yellow
Added subtle scratches to show wear
H&K USP:
Skinned entire gun black
Toned down the white night-sights to blend
Normal map ensures light won't take away the blackness
Slider is now lighter **I'm the only Black USP creator who made the slide lighter and it looks much better**
Where is the file? All I know is I want a CS source lowcal server!!!!!!!! if we could do the sweet stuff with source that we did with the RAK mod and lowcal arena it would be uber sweet. To have our own custom map(s) and all. I don't know what other modifacations we would do, hopefully not lowcal CS source. but would be sweet. By the way the last time I tried to install some of your skins I coudln't get it. I didn't try very hard granted, but I still tried. But I'll get it this time since you FINIALLY posted em AND redidem. lets play some CS source?
We currently only have de_dust on there but if I remember the VNC info I can get onto the server and put some new maps like cs_twilight and such and then rotate them. I played on our server with Mano (I whooped his butt, haha!) and this guy named Longshot, he was really cool, some great knife fights with him (Mano got bored of our retardeded playingness and left, lold).
Glad to see you got the server back up But hey we should have a custom spray each that represents lowcal. Here is mine! You guys are free to use the woman lowcal one to show we are woman friendly
A shame when I bought my X800 XT and planted it in here that it SHOWS SO MUCH FRIGGIN' DETAIL! I almost redid my skins until I realized it actually looks pretty great. This is running at 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 8xAF... my 9600XT only ran at 1024x768 with no AA or AF... and I'm still getting more frames with the X800 . I'm in love with the card and addicted to CS: Source; it isn't so bad.
I had to make a comparison set just for myself, quite a difference indeed (sorry for the gigantic images, at least I compress it properly -- at least enough so that image quality isn't screwed).
