Okay well lately I've been getting download rates of 350kbps steady with my standard Cable, which I found rather odd, it only started when I got the 120gb 7200rpm hard drive and reinstalled forceware ethernet drivers, I blamed the hardware for these beautiful speeds but at around 4AM last night (or morning) I saw a commercial for my ISP (COMCAST)....
Blahblah, "we know you want fast..." blahblah, "so now we're making it even faster"...blahblah, "Cable is now double the speed". That must explain the phenomenon (though the harddrive thing is a little fishy... maybe I'll hit 700kbps now? hah).
You might also notice my 27 pings in LCA, something great is up.
MTS has a steady policy of treating their customer's like shit, so I won't be surprised if I see an ad saying Blahblah, "we know you want fast..." blahblah, "so now we're making it even SLOWER!!!"...blahblah, "DSL is now 1/8 the speed... but good luck connecting in the first place!!".
Yes, Pencil was kicking some serious butt the other night. I'd consider signing up for his cable company, but I know that because of the commercial, loads of people are going to get it and the ping's going to bounce back up to normal.
