Hehe you have to be admin, I think, though I've never used slowmo. But I'm sure you need to be admin as it effects everyone else on the server.

To invoke slomo you have to enable cheats. Then type in console slomo #. # = the speed you want.
Noice picture mang. So are you a photoshop mang or a paintshop or corel boy. **Shiver** if you use those two. Photoshop all the way and an added bonus if you can use a 3d suite then you in my books.

Thx for the compliment on the pic! I am a Photoshop man and as of now I do not know any 3-D suite but I want to get Maya learning edition since it is only like 20 bucks . . . I took a basic ALIAS class back in college but the version is so old now I can't say I remember jack or shit.

What is your intended use of the program. If for leisure and nothing productive I would suggest getting the full version from a P2P client. The PLE version is very buggy and there is an annoying watermark on all renders. But you so far your interests in Maya is a good thing because the other 3d suites aren't very good in my eyes.

Just get Maya 5 off a p2p, it won't kill you. I can't imagine why you wouldn't .

I have been learning the excellent Blender to model stuff for a Secret of Mana-style action game I want to write. It's free, open source, and there's a book that was just released about it. Unfortunately the online documentation, while excellent, ranges from slightly to badly out-of-date. I plan on buying the book.

I'll be posting models to Work-in-Progress section as I finish them (I've already made some trivial animations, like a walking gingerbread man, but they're not interesting enough to post :-)

And I might as well get it now , seems muy intriguing. And although the old (600mhz w/ GeForce4 MX440-SE) may not be able to handle it when I try it in Linux, its worth a shot there, too.

I was thinking of the PLE simply because of the price and the fact in theory it should do everything a full version would (yeah the watermark sucks). I do not have the cash to lay down for a full version. I did not know it was that buggy though . . . SON OF A ^@%$^$#!!!!
I know people who have acquired things of that nature but not Maya (I assume that is what you mean right? (Enlighten me if it is not)

I want to learn it for personal enjoyment/use but I would also consider a career change if I was a god at it.

Yeah, they pack a lot of awesomeness into a tiny package. I doubt you'll have much trouble with your machine, depending on the kind of modeling you want to do. If it's for games, you won't have problems. If you want to do really detailed artistic stuff, .. well, I know people who do multi-day renders on a regular basis Oh... and it *does* work on Windows, of course. I think it also has some built-in renderfarm support.

Yupyup, very tiny, very very. Running it on this PC right now. Also, right now I'm installing Mandrake Linux 9.2 to the 600mhz PC, finally got everything up and running in windows, so now me can make a linux partition for when the parents aren't on it (which is mostly always). And it doesn't seem like the 600mhz would have any problem at all running it, especially in Linux. Go Blender !

Plus, all I'm going to do is fudge around since I haven't any ideas or intentions as of yet for what to do. Go me !?

PLE should be free Thorgrim!!!! It was last tiem I checked out the Alias site. Ya man its really buggy and yet there are still a few tools that aren't present in the PLE version that are in the Complete and Unlimited edition. I have training in Maya and believe me I could not work with the PLE and transition over to the complete version at the school I attended. I just bought a 100 dollar book on animation WOOT!!! Might have some insight to game characters.

I am not professing knowledge of 3-D at all. TRUST me. I will take your word for it.

I just know that at my lst job I they ordered the PLE for about 20$ (it was for the MAC if tht matters). Would the newest version be less buggy (ver 5?) perhaps? I like to have the CD instead of just downloading a program like that.

Being from Detroit I could say it would be easier to go to a school if I wanted that but now that I am in Tennessee that is less likely. I may have to go to Atlanta or something. I don't know what I will do yet but I will ask you before I do anything.
