Hello. I play way to many games one of which is Rune. Im curently starting to work on a Nevrwinter Nights world, with 5 others players. Me being one of the main 2 creatores of the game world.
So as I don't need to put a disk in my drive to play Rune I often come here and to the clan (WHY) Rune Raceing server to wind down from creating my world.
I'm big on honor when fighting but almost no one else is and I try to use all weapons even if I know I'm gona get my ass kicked for useing them (only way to learn).
I am also curently playing Battlefield 1942 & Road to Rome, Neverwinter Nights and the Half-Life mod Day of Defeat. I am thinking about starting to play Battlefield 1942 mods, Sacrifice, StarCraft, MechWarrior 3 & 4 and Black & White. So as I said before I play way to many games.
As a added note I'm currently being torn between buying new computer gear or a Tonny Iony Gibson SG special. But that probley way more information then you needed to know. LOL

Glad to have you around. I know you are a decent player and a good warrior. I am the same way with games. I am also a big fan of Never Winter Nights, and if you have anything interesting on it, please do tell! As for Rune, I hope to see you in the arena more often!

Quit that game 3 years ago I loved the test server but besides that it was lame, heh and i hated the graphics and the griefers in the game but it was fun being a pk.

No I've never played any game I have to pay to play online for. Decides Neverwinter Nights is a far better game. Its also easy to make game worlds for NWN and theres a constant flow of new fan created worlds. Its the closest they've ever come to pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons.

Nice I just bought that (NWN) a week or so ago, and I have yet to install it.I am waiting till my roomie gets a copy so we can do the game multiplayer first, but positive critisism is a good sign!

Oh yeah, NeverWinter Nights is the next best thing to DnD itself for sure. It is pretty easy to create your own world and everything in it, plus it is a good way to learn C+ if you don't have any experience in it. Not to mention that there is always new material posted on the web site to add to your world. New character pics, new monsters, skins, scripts, player made modules, and more.

I want to play NWN before I even consider a purchase...

I don't know anyone that owns it because none of my friends play computer games. They're into PS2

Hey now, don't be dissin' PS2. And Mano, as a video game freak I'd give NWN 2 thumbs up and would say that it is a pretty decent buy. If you play through the official campaign and get sick of it, there is like over a hundred new ones to down load off the web site. And they also just made and released the first module in the newest official campaign which is a highly role-play based story line. A damn good job they did on that one.

Well some current good rpg's out are Dark ages of camelot, Everquest, Shadowbane, Asheron's call 1 and 2, Anarchy Online, Starwars Glaxays, Planet-side, UO those are most popular rpg's well mmorpgs / mmorpgs is massive online role playing games, Rpg's is just like join a game play dosnt really effect anything not a real char to base a level off of or advance besides scores and junk if you get were iam goin with this heh. Ones i've played is Daoc, EQ, shadowbane, Asheron's Call 1 and 2, Anarchy Online, Others are in beta coming out soon.

Anyone ever play Fallout: Tactics? Not exactly what you could lable as an RPG, but still a kick ass game. I love the world that series created. It would be freakin' great if they would make a true RPG out of that story line....

As far as MMORPGs go...

EQ - Massive time sink, shitty graphics but tons of content. Everything about your character basically boils down to items, so people farm items all day long for no apparent reason, since there's no PvP other than duels (unless you play the pvp servers). I know there are camps in that game where you have to be online for three days straight just to get the pop in time before someone else ganks it, it’s ridiculous. In order to be at all decent in the game, you'd seriously have to invest years of your life. I tried it for a month and didn't like it, but my roommate was an addict for a few years.

DAoC - Not as bad of a time sink, takes about 10-18 days played to get a character to the highest level (50), that's if you don't do much other than level when you log on. Then you can have all of your armor and weapons player crafted, so there's not a lot of equipment farming necessary. The end game is all out RvR, which is sometimes nuts if you have 200 people out trying to kill each other. The game actually requires some skill too, it's not just running around with auto-attack on like EQ. The PvP servers are also a lot of fun (for the most part), if you want to go with a more UO feel. The main problem, however, is that the company who runs it (Mythic) is notoriously bad at leveling out realms and classes, they’ll beef up a class one patch, then nerf it to all hell two months later after they get enough bitching. They’ll pretty much conform to whatever the largest amount of whiners say, which is immensely frustrating and can mean that you just wasted 15 days of your life leveling up a character who’s no longer viable in RvR.

Anarchy Online - Fun for maybe a month, after which you're going to want to kill yourself because all you can do in the game is missions, and there are only a certain number of storylines they could come up with, so the missions start to repeat and become very tedious, even the supposedly random map layouts of each mission repeat often. It seems like the endgame is decent, however, if you want to spend the time trying to get to level 200, which I sure as hell wasn't going to do.

Shadowbane - I tried it in beta and hated it. The click and play, Diablo-like movement is atrocious in an online game. Though the game does seem to have a lot of cool features, I couldn't get into it, so I don't really know how the endgame is. It's cool how all of the servers are unique and linked together though, so there's probably plenty to explore, and taking over towns and setting them aflame seems like it'd be fun.

I haven't played AC 1 or 2, but I've heard nothing but bad things from people who have, other than the graphics being nice.

I, personally, am waiting for World of Warcraft, I always liked the Warcraft genre and Blizzard generally makes quality games with a lot of content. So I expect a lot from their MMORPG.

Also, don't expect anything from an MMORPG that doesn't have a monthly fee, OC12+ servers aren't exactly cheap to maintain, but not having lag in full-scale warfare certainly makes up for it.

Well I got to step in. You did not say anything about Neverwinter Nights. But you did say that you don't think free online rpgs are as good. To that I say this , NWN is Dungeons & Dragons. All other rpgs try to be D&D, it does not try , it is. As D&D online alot of people are trying to put there pen & paper worlds online and there are alot of free online NWN servers.
Now there are many bad servers out there. But there are also realy good ones. You can find all kinds of styles of fantasy rpgs out there with nwn. From Diablo style hack and slash to heavey roleplaying. From saving a village from the orc hord to helping the orcs loot and pilage. Its all out there for NWN.

You seriously don't want to get me started on just a general RPG rant, hell, I've written RPGs. As far as Neverwinter Nights goes, I could never get into it other than developing my own items, characters, scripts, etc. Which lasted me all of a couple months before I decided that my time would be better spent coding up game worlds from a blank template than utilizing someone else’s tools.

I personally am a first person, RPG, blah blah and Gamecube lover. Ahh and Yes some of you may think the gamecube sucks and has some shitass games well. Yes there are some shit ass games out there. But take Zelda : The WindWaker I thought that was going to be the lamest zelda game sense Zelda 1 but when i got it, It kicked ass !

I also love to play Serious Same : The Second Encounter The Graphics are cool and the online playing is cool..
