There is a fake Sker going around the rune servers . I don't know what to do about it but Im hopeing that letting you guys know will prevent me from getting blamed for bad behavior by the fake .

I can vouch for this. Was playing with Sker in the arena and noticed someone called $ker entered as well.

Is this person using your exact name or just the $ker?

If he/she gets in first he/she uses my exact name. If I there first he/she comes in as $ker. I was just on the clan why server he/she was there as Sker, effectively blocking me from useing my nick. But thats ok I Im officaly never gona play on the clan WHY server ever again (to many jerks and cheaters there and clan WHY seems to like it that way )
I should note that i have never been able to get ahold of HOV (oh god how I tryed but never seem to find it). So if you see me playing HOV ,its the imposter.

A while ago I was playing with a Sker who was playing nicely for a long time. However, after provocation by a third party (I can't remember exactly what happened), this Sker spammed up the channel with a macro, and I do mean spammed. I muted him for a few seconds and then unmuted him. He immediately became irate, typed a few angry words, and left. I was taken aback, as I had thought that Sker and I were on rather good terms. I thought that he would simply take the hint and stop spamming with the good grace that he usually displays. Until this incident, I was even considering asking him about sponsoring and minorship, but that's another story.

The only protection against this that I can think of is that which I had already been considering looking into for reasons other than protection. What says everyone about minoring Sker? Of course we'd go through the usual process and I'd be happy to sponsor him.

But even if, for some dumb reason which I don't think could possibly happen, he was voted down, I think he should be minored in the way Shady is or was (whichever, I can't keep track). No one should be impersonated (well, except perhaps for Bladehunter, whose reputation can only be improved by impersonators), and especially not a guy like Sker. The above example is a very good reason, I think, why Sker's name and reputation should be protected. Until I saw this thread (and, truthfully, specifically his latest post in it; the incident in question occurred a rather long time before this thread), I was under the impression that Sker had either randomly turned into a minor asshole or decided to have a manly menstrual cycle. Even his good reputation did not protect him against this, and I don't think anyone is an exception. If a guy calling himself Unter den Uebrigen came onto Low Caliber Arena and proceeded to be an asshole, I don't think many people would realize that it was a fake.

I've played only few times with Sker, and he's a good guy.
He should be a minor to protect his name... I don't see why not?

I also recommend banning this other guy. Anyone who's enough of a prick to try to destroy someone's good reputation does not deserve to be able to play on Low Caliber Arena.

Obviously, someone wanting to impersonate Sker wouldn't log on at the same time he is under a slightly modified name.

Heh, perhaps you have a point, but the fact that this person makes no move to unconfuse obviously confused people makes me suspicious.

I've been impersonated online more times than I can remember. I remember one time, my first and last time on a Counterstrike (or maybe it was Team Fortress) server, I entered under the name The Potted Plant. Within thirty seconds, another The Potted Plant showed up. I then proceeded to have an interesting argument with myself, because in the game I was playing (whichever it was), two people can have the exact same name. There's no way to tell which The Potted Plant was saying what even if you knew which of the two was the real one. It went something like this.

The Potted Plant: Hey, what are you doing under my name?
The Potted Plant: I'm not. What are you doing under my name?
The Potted Plant: Jeez, I just entered thirty seconds ago.
The Potted Plant: Can't I play anywhere without someone stealing my name?
The Potted Plant: No, you stole my name!
The Potted Plant: Asshole
The Potted Plant: Bitch

I had a feeling it was her. She was member of clan HDK and they all hate me. But no one knows for shure its her and even if they did what could you do about it.
