I agree. Why, after a few games in which an attempt at honor is made by less than half of the players, the cycle turns even me into a base butcher, chopping all without heed to their weaponless state. It does jack up my rank, but that is not a good price for the loss of fair play.

I do like the Cycle, but only when I know all the people in there... Manowar, Dante, Unter, and a couple other regulars make for a great game. However, when it's just a couple of unpricipled people drifting in from the streets, hacking madly at those who are unarmed, chatting, and spawning, it just gets messy and mean.

And some of the maps are missing from the cycle...

But overall, I do prefer the arena... but even that gets quickly overrun by the unsportsmanly and the rude.

Is it usual to change it every so often... I've played the same ones ever since I joined, just took me by suprise to see it different.

To keep the maps somewhat fresh, we decided upon a three-three scheme.  Coliseum, Hildir, Ruins form a trinity; and, otherly, Lava, Hel, Thorstadt.

My feeling is, however; we'll convert the cycle into an HoV.  As charming and pregnant as the good ol' are, they're becoming heavy to stomach.  HoV may well have the preference of freshness.

hmm well i was quite excited about headball and the like, but i think that may very well have to take back seat to team-deathmatch or capture the torch in the possible future?

Headball is certainly interesting; may be a bit hard to pull off in Low Cal unless we “massage” the decapitations.  Our last attempt at CTT went miserably; that may have lain upon the sizable map, though (3MB I believe).

TeamDM modified for friendly fire might pique, as it inserts a moment of care and strategy where everything before were the mashing of buttons.

Okay, all makes sense, glad to know it's all in hand...

Will wait impatiently for new changes, those ideas sound great... especially like the idea of teams, never done anything like that before.

well next time we're in arena or cycle, we could informally try out some teams of 2,3,4 taking on all others or something..for a few minutes.

Seems to me that unless friendly-fire is disabled, it's well near impossible to play as a team. I tried playing with Rhoedd that way once, but we kept on hacking each other up, no matter how careful we were... unless we played very slowly and carefully, and in that case the mean ol' bad guys took advantage of our sluggishness and chomped us up.

Still, probably worth a try... I'm always up for something unusual and wacko...

Your all right, The cyvle does lack A LOT of honour, I joined earlier on, and someone would just follow me, and then when I stoppend to pick up a weapons or something, they would kill me. This was not only one player- many did it, and my rank fell harshly. Team DM might be a good idea though, Friendly Fire or not, but still, the honour is still in trouble.
In the meantime, I'm sticking to the arena.

hehe, courtly fencing is fine in the arena...
but there's a time and place for cunning and opportunity in cycle...
just another form of expression..

ps, get good at using fists...the boxing arena is quite fun and can allow you to transliterate skills..
