On that note, we need someone to take Shady's spot on the members wall, Vidar seems like a good candidate. |

You do understand, however, Shades, that a creator's affection for his project is not unlike a parental affection; any disparagement thereof, therefore, will be met with a particular parent-like protectivism. There are particular matters of vanity and small pride which are, unfortunately, off-limits; Lear's fool had learned well the boundaries of Lear's pride. |

So someone can harass others unnecessarily, belittle some of your longest standing and respected members (Wintermoon), and generally disobey server rules without any repercussions (unless they do so completely incoherently, like Sabih)... but if they speak poorly of LCA itself, it's completely unacceptable? The server may be your brainchild, but shouldn’t the plight of your constituents be of a higher priority? Also, I don’t see the point in having a vote on the issue if it’s obviously an authoritarian regime. You decided to elect him to membership despite the higher proportion of “Nay” votes to those of “Yay,” and I have a feeling you’d demote him to Peregrine regardless of what the voters decide. I’m not saying the system is wrong by any means, since it’s your club and you should be the deciding factor in all decisions. What I am saying is: either base your decision on what your constituents decide, or don’t put up an opinion pull. If you’re worried about the statistical accuracy of the voting outcome, why not make a “Members” forum in which only members may partake? |
