Numbers are a poor indicator of the quality of membership. ROV is a case in point, although I think they've trimmed down, too. We had roughly seventy members at the MSN site, fifteen to twenty of which showed up with any regularity.

In fact, I'm resolved to thin the base of members in order to stave off "Clan-dilution" and internal factions. Part of the reason we had a defection in the Fall was rapid and undiscerning growth.

"Solitary" is hardly the word I'd have picked. Whom are you comparing us to: the great world of clanlessness, or that desert of homeless one-offs who vagabond on random servers and, scooped up by the next $20.00 bargain at Staples, fade as rapidly into obscurity?

No; we have a strong base of talented people. And like the stock market bubble of the late 90's: many come and many go, but there is inevitably an endurant core.
