Middie, you have PMs! Respond, biatch!!

For those who do not know:

To access Private Messages, go to the "Go" button at the top left, then "My Space", then Private Messaging. You should get a notification in your mailbox though, unless you disabled it (enabled by default). Have fun.

Also, we should have a tutorials thread (a professional-looking one, though, as in a sticky with only lengthy, or at least helpful, tutorials and no comments)... Mano can start it up and make it a sticky... there's way too many damn new things here and even I got confused!! Why not make it easier on all of us? .

Oh, and what the fuck is with this "this message has been edited" crap?! The thing I loved most about this forum is being able to make a zillion edits without it telling every damn person, because I edit a lot for either spelling or to add stuff, take that stupid thing out (this is my second edit on this post, by the way).... bah, please please don't keep that there, it is rather annoying ...

Do you want to volunteer to write it? I've got faith in ya.

Ahhh I hate the "edited by" thing... most annoying. Even worse is if it keeps track of how many times you've edited it... "this post has been edited 9 TIMES by YELLOWHAIR"...

And does the Karma function work? If it's anything like what I've seen on other forums, it's a sort of thumbs up/thumbs down rating system... people can give you a plus or a minus, and your total score sorta rates how you're doing. Rather pointless, and faulty, and irritating as well... but does it work? I couldn't see a place to use it... and it's confusing...

We turned that edited by crap off on the old software, I don't remember seeing that option in the admin CP, I'll look again.

I've turned the Karma off for now, as far as I can figure the only way you can get a lot of karma is by high post counts. There are other karma options, but I can't select them, they just say "coming soon". So for now, no karma.

Oh please! No! Not Karma! Are you talking about something like Slashdot does where EVERY FUCKING POST YOU MAKE is actually rated? That'd be really screwed up, I probably wouldn't really post anymore if I were to be criticized on everything... plus I hate post count ranks and stuff, don't do that... it really isn't LowCal to me . This is not some general discussion forum like everything else, no reason to go along with all the other clichés of forum t-rash!

Oh and... I think I can start off a tutorial thing... but I don't know schieße about how everything works now... , maybe when I learn. I would expect you to put a lot more stuff though, as you are the silly willy moderator who is essentially tearing through the admin options to fix stuff .

Also -- I guess "edited by" is taken off, but for some reason my edits within those didn't show up. Weird glitchy thing then, and it is gone now so hehe . Glad we all agree that its incredibly stupid... .

I wonder how "report to a moderator" works.... I'm going to report one of your posts, Mano, just to see .

.... Okay, reported.... another thing is that in the thread where I reported that post, it says another one of your posts was "edited by <>" ...... so its effecting old posts, too? AH CRAP !!!!!

By the way -- am I posting too much lately? Lol, sorrrrry. I just noticed my post count, ut oh. Well put it this way, it'd be twice as high had I not edited all my posts like usual .

If the karma is anything like it was in FSU where members rank each other giving positive or negative points, that was fun for a bit but soon got pointless. The purephotoshop forums have a nce "rep" system I think where you can write a message when giving rep points...

About the PM's.... I want PM's as in PM's that come up when logged into the site not this email PMing. Think I am going to have to look into it and see what I can hack up. Bring back Dante's idea of a sticky board.

It isn't e-mail PM-ing, that's just for notifications. The PMs are accessed through that other thing... but it would be great if there was a thing at the top that tracks messages and displays it with an easy way to access, as well. I'm sure it is possible on here, we'll see.

I mean javascripted (IRC like) PM while logged into the site that a popup comes up with the private message from the other person. Or a Sticky-note section for the members.

It was done by editing custom wordlets; I've taken care of business there, but I'm still seeing the message.  May be hard-coded; I'll ask at the developer's forum.

Yes, really really is, been watching it slowly go up for a while. Only things left are:

Members Section.

The little icons on the side still don't blend because of the white-ness...

Still need the chat thing at the side.

Opening things like the "GO" button makes the little dropdown appear much lower than usual.

Something else?

By the way, in Opera I can now go into Red Carpet without logging in each time! Woot! Glad that's been fixed .

I'm sure everything I listed is being fixed as I speak, giving it time, just posting this in case something waaaas missed... (why doubt Unter, he's been fixing a lot that I was seeing as a problem lately ).

[Edit:] But uh, now the edit message button is harder to tell apart! Oh no, woe is me! Hehe, oh well, I thinker .

I'm still on the road and had to throw some things together; I'll work on blended images next week.

Big things: sidebar and members page.

I did scratch one up and was going to upload it here... but it didn't come out well enough, so I'll let you take care of it when you can .

---Woot! Going to Red Carpet in Firefox without logging in over and over works perfectly now! I don't use Firefox, but for those who do, there you go. Now the only minor fix that is related in all browsers is the drop down menu going too far. But, of course, it'll be done when its done .

I'll have to take care of that on the next major update; the tables there are IE optimized (read: hacked).
