This is actually what I liked. You have to choose, you want to stay armed but in darkness, listening to someone's breathing and always waiting for zombie to smash your face or you pick up the flashlight to glance at room and get yourself unarmed and easy to kill. I know, game isn't much scary nor it is hard but scaring yourself while playing it was great. I mean I just played the game as if it was truely scary one.

Maybe you are playing the game wrong? You mean that the game was meant to be boring and playing it in that way is the only correct one? I like some plots about big corporations that have too much money to think about morale. And while playing I was watching every videodisk and reading every message. With all these things the game didn't seem plotless to me.

First, I never use cheats in game when I play them. When I have fun (like GTA or something) - I do cheat, but only after I completed the game not less than on middle dificulty without cheats. Second, after those dark, bloody and really dead zombies of DooM3 zombies from HL2 looked just-for-hahas. Red blood on blue jeans seemed to be pink lol. My friend was telling me some many good things about ravenholm that when I played it finaly I thought "what the fuck?! It ain't any cool!". I guess it's my friend's fault - after his stories I expected muuuuch more from that dark part. You can't fight the fact that zombies from Doom3 were made damn great. Just zombies, without guns. And for me they were much more scary than that ravenholm.

I don't say anything against that movies or ppl who like them, I just say that there's such kind of movies where point is not the strong idea, or dramatic plot, or some characters conflicts, but just the good looking picture. I mentioned it to explain what sense HL2 made to me. We are here to share opinions, aren't we?

I know it was mentioned in credits of MP1 that he will be back but anyway, first part had a great story and final and continuing it in the way the did in MP2 is, in my opinion, an insult. Just like you didn't like Doom3 as a sequel of first 2 hits.
