If this keeps us (they keep changing the back office on me), we might have to migrate to something like ubb.threads or vBulletin; let's think on it.

Oh wow, that's shit. It seems like everywhere I turn, something I am involved with seems to be getting screwed for money by a "higher power", of which one can't help but buy into (no choice). In this case, though, it looks like you can find a solution.

If you can't work your way through getting everything to work with our current ubb.x software, like if all else fails, then a downgrade might not be too bad. To be honest, I don't encourage that you use vBulletin unless you truly do require it. ubb.threads, however, may be a good choice if all else fails with Eve, yet I understand it may have a lot of limitations. That includes: Admin/Mod priveledges, user interface and every other little knick-knack we have here. I'd suspect something will get fucked up, you just have to make sure beforehand that we won't suffer anything drastic, that our disadvantages definitely don't outweigh our, well, advantages.

The worst thing that can happen is losing our current information (users, etc.) or tossing out everything in this current forum and having to turn it into another MSN Archive. It is definitely not worth it to do such a thing, which is my problem with using different software... whether or not you can transfer the "goods" back over easily.

Oh and on another note... our passwords are plaintext? So everyone's password is basically visible by you or someone else? I don't feel so safe like that; it'd be cool if someone would tell me otherwise...

...and on that same note: will this Arena Password be made public in any way? I won't fill anything out until I'm guaranteed security. Otherwise, I'll just use a 'special', easily forgotten password. It'd just be nice if you could clarify how safe this information is... I mean, I trust that if anything is exposed to you, you won't do anything, but its still awkward .

Hey if you decide to change things up vBulletin Version 3.0.1 has some nice tweaks and fetures.
Go to www.purephotoshop.net to see it. Cool stuff like a tool tip that tells you the first line of text when you hover over a thread title and stuff like that. I like that I think, so that is what i would reccomend if we decide on a change. BTW I am not sure how that would work with authentication and stuff at all. ...

Yeah, it's generally not a good policy to use sensitive passwords for boards; never know what kind of cats are lurking with database access.

The Arena Password is private, and not available to other users; still, don't use your online-banking password.

Just so you guys know, I've never set an arena password in my profile but can still plogin.

I've edited my user.ini accordingly...
