Greetings. Just informing you all that there is a new low caliber server up and running.

It's named "Low Caliber Seaside", and is currently running the DM-Seaside map, obviously, with classic deathmatch rules. Runes and powerups are currently enabled, but this may change, depending on feedback. Player limit is set to 6, though this may increase in the future. Low Caliber Seaside is currently a Rune - Halls of Valhalla server, so those without the HOV expansion pack will not be able to connect. If this becomes a huge problem, we can backdate it to classic Rune.

NOTE: While we fully support the Low Caliber Club, this server is not directly connected with the low caliber arena administration nor the admins on this site, so don't bug them about any problems you may run into on the Seaside server. E-mail me at reagan_haslam@hotmail.com if you have any feedback of any sort. Please report bugs or problems.

Other than that, hope to see you there, and enjoy.

Due to temporary difficulties, the Low Caliber Seaside map is currently running the standard cycle of Rune deathmatch maps. This is due to some problems we were having with the server earlier, we expect it to be running HOV with both the seaside and ship battle maps by the end of the day. Players with the standard version of Rune 1.07 will be able to connect to the server at this time until the server is running HOV again.

Night.

Not bad at all, 120ms. But that's on an empty server, anything more is prolly too much for my liking.

Gonna try to see how it plays out with 6 peeps.

Dude there's something seriously fing wrong with that place.

Everything is good for a short while, then I get flung up in the air and freeze. When I suicide to regain ground my framerate goes kaput, I mean like 30FPS and lower. When I reconnect, everything is fine again then in a short while same goddamn thing. This is the weirdest shit I have every seen.

BTW Vidar was there too, same problem for him too I believe.

Indeed; it almost defies explanation.

I surmised it had something to do with their router (it's never wise to host and play on the same equipment), but apparently they had problems on a naked line.

I had similar problems on LCA at the very beginning on account of packet loss; apparently crucial spatial information gets lost on the way since it uses a UDP protocol which, unlike TCP-IP, is not "guaranteed".

But that still doesn't explain why this server is exceptional; it could very well be a limitation of the service provider.
