quote: pro's and con's to both as i can see. Teamspeak seems to take less bandwith, which will help our overseas and 56K users. But it doesn't look as streamlined and well designed as ventrillo. From reading the news and forums it seems that teamspeak has been having lots of server trouble... ventrillo on the other hand seems like an easier to use application, but it takes up 2 to 3 KBs of bandwith per second. They've even admitted they're not very 56K friendly... so it's a tough decision really, i guess it depends on what you're looking to get. and who, if anyone, you're willing to exlcude.

We'll probably go with a dedicated Ventrilio server out of Boston; that way we'll get some good quality and avoid depressing the game server. We'll also be midway between California and the Continent to get a good latency distribution. One quote said with TeamSpeak you sound like "a robot out of the 60's", lol. The latter, though, apparently has less latency and more continuous delivery. It should be easy to switch if we have probs, or drop altogether if it's not useful.

This reminds me of a similar thing done for Counter Strike> here's some results: >Red, there's a sniper *static sounds* camped in *static*!! >Where? >In *static* gate!! >Wheere? >*static* WTF r u doin? U get me killed! >Fuck off!

Lol, I wonder if they were using Verilio or something else. Since we're not doing CTT or Team yet, this will just be recreation; individual words perhaps not so crucial.
