Well I just turned 21 today and I am trying to think whats so significant about that number. 16 most Canadians get there license to drive a vehicle. Its legal to purchase cigarettes and pron at the age of 18 in most provinces. 19 is when most provinces allow you to consume alcohol legally. 20 nothing. 21 not sure there is anything. 21 in Europe allows you get your sportscar license. (Ferrari etc.)

What are the perks for your country on age?

Pretty basic here:

16 - License
18 - Cigarrettes, pr0n, hunting rifles, voting
21 - Beer, liquor, handguns
25 - Lower car insurance rates

Here 16 license 18 everything else and 25 for lower car insurance rates its not a law its a agreement of those private corporation to do so and accepted cause it makes sense to some .

16 - identity card, beer, wine, etc, tobacco
18 - liquor, porn, car (well,the license...)

Everything is able to you since 18 here (except jail - since 14)

16- drivers license, allowed to be employed
17- R movies, M games
18- allowed to purchase fire arms (excluding handguns) and ammunition (possesion at younger ages is not prohibited), porn, and many more things that come with not being a minor anymore
19- tobacco products
21- , allowed to posses/buy a hangun and ammuntion. (possesion is prohibited at younger ages unless on private property with permission.)
25- cheaper car insurance (must be a constant or something :P )

21 you can get your city bus license lol.
