Hey guys, I watched awefull news about Katrina's victims and stuff. I hope none of you got hurt by it?

It made my power fluctuate. I was still 120-150 miles away from where it hit. Well if i think about it probably 100 miles away from Mississippi. I am mad at the government. They knew damn well that this was going to happen and yet the waited until after the storm to send help. I would have sent help 2 days before it hit from California and 1 day before it hit have everyone wait for katrina to hit in Texas so they can get a early jump on evacuating the rest of the people. Hell after that Earthquake/Tsunami hit on the other side of the world it took about two days for us to send help and yet it takes us about 3-4 days after the storm to start doing anything for the people to get them outta there. I really feel for them we in FL had Hurricane Ivan kill us where i live last year and Dennis got us this year. The beaches i love are gone and still not safe to swim in due to bacteria from septic tanks.

I can keep on typing about this so im going to stop there.

Yeah sad situation.
It seems like a lot of what it hit was the poor neighborhoods... maybe partly because of that there isn't exactly a pull together spirit like after 9/11. All the murders, suicides, rapes, and looting is making a bad situation a lot worse.

Although I have to ask, how many were asked/told to evacuate and stayed anyway?


Plus I think this is an overall harder job than the tsunami just because of the whole land area with the big lakes, ocean and mississppi there plus being below sea level...
Now the fires. Just crazy.

It's not just the poor nieghborhoods that was hit worse. The entire city of New Orleans is gone underwater The astrodome is close to being flooded as well. Also, the people that did stay, most of them are just poor unwealthy people that couldn't leave even if they tried. Although, they should have tried harder in life to become successful people, it is still their fault for being weak. I still feel for them though. The looting isn't bad since they can't take it with them once everyone is evacuated from the city. They are probably looking at bull dozing the entire city. Big bucks to be made if you are in construction.

Yeah, as i seen tem in News they looked weak. I think they should hold on to the life harder and try to work with government better. The only thing I seen is them bithcing on government without trying to work together. And anyone knows something about russian students there? I heard there are lots of them...

I too have heard about this awful hurricane. What makes me mad is 12 countries offered help and the US Gov isn't accepting. Want worldly help or not. Every bit counts. Whatever.
