Here's the task bar, everything above the "line break" are programs that I seem to load up all the friggen time, but aren't good enough for my desktop. (I should note, that I try, at all costs, to avoid having more than one row of icons on my desktop.

My desktop is all-too-simple now, as you can see from the picture it is just a completely grey desktop with fake desktop folder and 72 icons... yay.

Apologies for CS: Condition Zero being on there, sticks out like a sore thumb... I hate CS as much as the next man but the single player is OK (I love randomly spawning NPCs and enemies who shoot through walls or fire at me before seeing me because of poor AI!).

No, that's not all of my games (and all of my software is run through run commands, not via desktop or start menu) but, well, that's it.

Ah, another FireFox user in the club . Looks like one task open down there says "Bilder" -- if my horrible german serves me correct, that's an images folder! Oh man, what a pervert! Oh boy!

So, Eis, you're running on an Athlon 64 right now? If so, which chip; maybe a 3400+?

yes i'm using firefox and yes it's my image folder oh and yes i'm running on an Athlon64 now. 3000+. that's more that enough for me, but still some good thing for the future. btw: 31°C

Oh, beautiful, Eis. I plan on laying down the cash for an Athlon 64 3400+ whenever I can, after I buy the $500 Radeon X800 XT and such. I may not even pick it up if I'm short on cash and in a rush, but it seems to be so so worth it.

I beg you, Eis, tell me exactly what cooling solution you're using!11!1 31ºC idle is an awesome temp. to be at, I used to idle 38º with this AXP2500+@2.10GHz but since I put my new SB Audigy2 ZS in, temperatures in Windows are 50ºC idle... 'tis torture... actually, when I started typing this I was 46ºC, it just hit 52ºC and I'm only typing. Torture.

i'm planning to buy a X800 XT, too. hopefully i have the money soon.
i'm using the "Coolermaster Hyper6" with two fans on it. but this cooler is for P4 and A64 only. 100% copper. a really huge and heavy cooler (55 bucks here) i have one 80x80 fan in the front and a 60x60 in the back of my case. i'll buy a new case soon so there will be more fans.
maybe you should put some new heatsinking paste on your cpu to decrase your temps.

Yes yes, if I do fetch a 3400+ (it'll run me like $700 unless I don't need new RAM... I have 1GB of PC3200 and if I have to replace it then I just won't buy the A64) I'll be sure to get the CoolerMaster Hyper6 HSF. My case has been posted here and it really does suffocate everything, I need a new one. When I get the full-tower server case (an Aspire) then maybe my heat problems will die... I have 3 blue 80mm fans and am going to drill a hole in the top of my case but it'll still be hot . Also, I use Vantec's thermal paste, maybe I should get some Arctic Silver III but BLAH .

I must say, that Mac desktop looks pretty damn nice. I'm still not sold on it being a better machine though... and have they made it easier to upgrade hardware?

for games macs arent the best, upgrading the hardware is becoming easier i think, not like a pc tho

In other news, I have recently discovered ObjectDock for Windows. It is a docked thing that simulates (flawlessly!) the Mac OS program selector at the bottom. I have to admit, it was the thing I liked most about the Mac OS, one of the only things I liked at all. But now, it is here on Windows . Matter o' fact, I am thinking of making a new account dedicated to a seperate Windows Shell based on the Mac OS X theme, etc.

Maybe Mano will show off his ObjectDock, it is some sleek shet. For now, this is mine... I only put graphics software on it because that's what looks best, as the rest can be on the desktop . I'm thinking of keeping it on there, too, it is quite nice. There's lots of ways to make it look (like just like Licker's!), this is just what I like . Viva la sexy icons.
