It's been a while since I played regularly on this server, mainly because of inactivity. Now there's more activity, but with that comes the hordes of impersonators and server-crashers...

It's no-win either way. The regulars are getting scared off by this sort of thing, and once the regulars are gone, what do we have left? An empty server, echoing halls...


I realise we've had an extrodiary amount of trouble with the server FTP and other problems. But I had hoped that was fixed, and that something might come about now.

I propose, for starters, more protection for Minors; immunity to votekicking definately, and perhaps the ability to boot as well. For members, it would be nice if they had a day/week-long ban; it's really quite ridiculous for them to have to sit out of a game for the sole purpose of repeatedly kicking some persistant annoyance. For impersonators, permanent ban? It's a blatant and deliberate attempt to defile the name of well known and respected people; true, most of us aren't fooled, but many others will be and will wonder at that sort of behavior being allowed.


So, with all due respect and with infinite amounts of patience, I ask... what's going on?

There we go! That's the point I wanted to make, the request I wished to "file" amongst you folks. Minors and members alike should have complete immunity from any type of kicking (we're all in the same club, why kick eachother? It only brings upon hostility...) and the ability to at least boot some people. I mean, we're all smart enough to know that it can potentially crash the server, but when used wisely it can help us, the people who play. I mean, do I seriously want to play in the server with some kid named "Pencil." in there trying to impersonate me? I should be able to kick the 'fucker', , whether or not it does anything is his decision but eventually I bet he would have changed names.

And about the banning, please, I really wanted to request temporary bans on people, if possible. Week long bans would be nice, an day long bans for the certain people. They will obviously stop if they keep getting temporary bans, but getting kicked constantly solves nothing. Its not much to ask if it helps the server, right? .

Update on this impersonation issue and lame attacks... this was originally mean solely as an attack on Alexander; some sort of petty revenge due to him deleting someone's character from his server; a suspected server crasher, but apparently falsely accused in this case. The person so offended then told a group of his friends to harrass Alex wherever they saw him; this includes the attacks in LC.

Apparently it got out of hand, the friends were having a bit too much fun crashing the server and taking it out on people other then Alex. I know Mario was trying to crash the server; and reports have that he succeeded several times. Another person apparently was called Luigi; the orginal person who was the "boss" of the operation, but stayed in the backgroun, is called WooKie.

Pencil and I were talking to these people, and I think the attacks and impersonations will stop. They'll sort out their problem with Alex, and stop laming the server.

Might want to read the chatlogs and see for yourselves; was just in the past twenty minutes or less that this conversation was going on. But we said we wouldn't push for their banning if they stopped; whether the officers will mete out punishment for the past behavior is their call, but apparently we won't have trouble with this group in the future.

They didn't seem too sorry for the trouble they caused, nor did they issue an apology... but I don't think they'll be back, nor do I think the original person intended it to hurt the server rather then one person. Overall, it was extremely petty, silly, immature, and stupid of them; causing a load of problems for other people in the server.

I don't hold Alexander responsible for this, and think he was unfairly tormented by these people; things would have been a lot better if they realised they couldn't get their revenge through our servers; their little sceme was only aided by the unique options available in LC.


Big thanks to Pencil for helping talk to these people and negotiate with them. I hope some good comes out of it.

Agreed. I started this initiative and still believe in it strongly. I don't think it is a matter of acceptability, but rather getting around to coding it.

My side of the story:

Okay so Yellow and I have "resolved the issue" pertaining WooKie (the leader) and his comrades like Mario and such who have been crashing the server and stealing names. If the "higher authorities" read up on the chatlogs, you'll see how it all went down. Apparently they were all after Alex because Alex supposedly accussed them of of h4x0r1Ng t3h server and then SUPPOSEDLY he deleted WooKie's account and blahblah.

Well, here's the deal: We compromised, okay? WooKie assured us that he and his friends will STOP as long as we have assured Alex that he will not delete WooKie's account again. Pretty cheap on his side, but at least we're done with them. He's e-mailed all his buddies as we are typing, and it is very likely that they will be done today, no more bullcrap.

And look, we didn't use brute force, just conversation. But does that mean this always works? Meh, no, and still before all of this we, the minors, still needed protection. I hear ky0xx0r got kicked, why isn't he protected from kicking? And why aren't minors? Also, would be cool to protect certain people regardless of rank, like even Alex for however long he needs to be protected, I don't think he needs membership just so we can protect his name. "ENT MOOT", is it? Meh, let me just make a tiny tiny list of problems that we may need to fix to satisfy everyone who is a part of Low Caliber.

--Minors and Members protection from all forms of kicking, including votes.

--Minors given the ability to do certain things like kicking or something that will actually effect thing positively, (and would we really abuse it?!).

--Whatever other crap we requested, ever.

I know I'm not the spokesperson for the Minors, but this is just my point, what I think should get done. Once again, not much to ask if it helps the club.

Oh and it doesn't seem too out of reach, you guys did some nice things so far, whatever is impossible you can tell us, as for the rest, please consider it , don't see why not... maybe you hate us ?

RAK update will come when Unter is able to. Votekick as far as I know will be abolished or written for the club members to use. (side note: I can be votekicked and I am an officer.)

You guys are right, actions need to be taken.

Normally, I would download logs, find IP's, and ban these polesmokers but it's not possible right now. I thought I-Lan would have us in order by now, I really did. I don't know what the holdup is since I'm not in direct contact with them.

I would fix any and all problems if I had the ability, but I cannot. I lack the knowledge and skills.

I will, however, bestow some powers until we can get our shit in order. YellowHair, Pencil: do everything in your power to police our server. I trust your judgement.

I'd like to point out that this sort of thing is the sole reason why I and, I'm sure, many other members no longer frequent Low Caliber Arena. I know Odin at least mostly shares my feelings on this, as do several other members for sure. Now, it has been suggested that I am giving the club the cold shoulder, and I'd like to state that the case is not so; for my part, my absense has nothing to do with any hard feelings towards the club.

The few times I've recently gotten into Low Caliber Arena with only the people I like to play with in it, like Pencil and Gutzu and Brutus and all the other good people I've seen in there recently, I've had just as much fun as when I first started coming here. It took me a while to realize that the true reason I'd stopped enjoying my Low Caliber Arena experiences was because of all the shit that we are forced, by Winblows or Linux or whatever, to put up with. Mario and company are only a frame on the stack (pardon the expression).

What am I saying? I'm saying that I think you will see a complete, or near-complete, revival of Low Caliber Club when the server comes back to Winblows and the anti-exploiting update arrives. Why, even an hour-long ban would solve half of the problems. I don't think interest is actually waning, it's just impeded.

My recommendation is that minors, excepting certain ones, be given the power to kick and execute an hour-long or game-long ban. Members should be able to execute those in addition to a day-long ban. If we have problems requiring bans of a week or more, then we take it to the officers. Also, is it possible to make mute and nosafe "sticky," so that the offenders cannot just shake them off by leaving and rejoining?

On another note, I saw Kenshin impersonated a few days ago. While he may deserve it, and he's done it to others in the past, I still maintain that there is no excuse for impersonation (yes, yes, I know I did it that one time on Alexander's server to be clever). Is there some way you can grant him plogin ability without giving him minorship?

Well Rhoe the lamer fact is only in part why I rarely frequent LCA, not so much as those filthy bastard lamers but more on the lines of the idealogy of those who allowed them to take control in most cases of the server being that the "rules", the invisible rules, which had no consequence when broken. Yes I do understand the idea I am to quick and hasty to enforcement of rules, which may be so but oh well.

I find now that maybe I was taking it too seriously in some cases, but now it seems to be changing back to the old ways of operation and protocol with such things as lamers, shame we had to switch to the linsuxs just before this aye? Let it be known I have no personal problems with the managment of low caliber, and the reason I do not post more then once every other week is I feel no need to say the exact same thing as he who posted before and that I only post for a reason (such as now). One or two of LCC's officers have shown great displeasure with me which is understandable I guess but at least with this the air may be cleared.

Also I am also in favor of the banishment of the gnats who are causing trouble, even if Kenny is more then deservate of what he gets(he who thinks I live my life off hate and bad energy lol). Rhoe's post seem to trigger big responses from me...

Mm'hmm! I forget exactly what Rhoedd's point is with the whole Minor thing, like what we can and can not do.... but right now Yellow and I obviously have Enforcer status (which is an awesome name and/because Manowar is so AWESOME hehe), which entitles us to the exact tools we currently need. No reason to give members something and then the "lesser ones" nothing at all, so in the future I'm sure Minors (most of 'em) and Members should both have the same abilities, even if a ban isn't do-able by Minors.

I made me point a while ago, and things are okey-day now (because Manowar is so AWESOME ), I have nothing to complain about. Yellow and I unlamed the server (even at least for the time) and now the actual "regulars" (including us two) will be able to play this server in peace for a little.

Doesn't it seem like everyone is taking action now, though? I mean, a new RAK mod, super-respect for Minors, Windows, and some other might good things.... we can't complain, just hope...

He WAS playing under a different name. And with that name, he crashed servers and wrecked havok (again). Exaggerrated, but man, what the fuck?

You thought it was bad before, and I even said that (or at least to myself) "even BH wasn't this bad, and he got banned"... well blah at that! I can't believe the root of every problem is him, and he really actually wanted us to know who it was and he made himself feel innocent and say "oh no, I'm going to get banned for being here after what my friends did! oh no!", etc. Well he revealed his name after Yellow, countless times, said she didn't care, so obviously he wanted us to know who.

Did I make sense there? If not, I just say "Holy crap, what an idiot...".

In addition to everything, he and his cronies Shadow and Chachi recently (within the past week) accused me of crashing their pitiful server and others. As "proof," they sent Manowar a completely meaningless log which we incredulously discussed. It was in retaliation to my attempting to explain to one of the Techwarriors what his fellow clanners were up to.

Needless to say, I think, I've never crashed a server. Really, I am unable to crash servers, or I would be now fighting - and losing to - the urge to head toward their pathetic server this instant, in retribution for their petty and mean accusation. What's more, if I had crashed Lord Nomics and Company's server, I'd probably be crowing about it here in this thread. I sure wouldn't be denying it.

Rather then trying to defend myself, which I confess I am having difficulty avoiding, I'd like to state that nothing that these clowns say can be believed, or even taken seriously. While I was at first truly outraged at their claim, I am now more amused.
