Hmm; keep me updated.

Imp's signature is needed on Eraser; and I'd say TeTchro is ready to go.

With every club, boys; there's a normal turnover process involved, of moving people out and moving people in.  In that sense, organisations are like the human skin: they keep renewing themselves as long as there's a healthy organism.  When the renewal stops: you know you've got an expired horse.

Anticipate the renewal!

Also, perhaps you wouldn't see as much hostility to newcomers if the majority of them wasn't so effing rude. I've seen just enough polite newcomers to know that they do exist.
My own issues are known to all, especially Midknight (although we agreed that I was exaggerating them in a particularly bad mood).

I presume that your anger is directed towards me... Sarcasm
First of all I kinda agree with Yellowhairs' statement.
Second: arguing on internet is like running on special olympics: nobody wins. You should be aware that people will have different opinions from yourself and be able to handle that in a mature manner.
Third: I won't bring up Yellowhair case cause gender is not an issue here; if someone's a member/minor in this Club that means that it's trustworthy. It's a sad day seeing her leaving.
Fourth: i don't understand why Shady is such a big problem; ignore him cause he feeds and grow from your reactions. Just don't mind him; he has a soft heart and a head to match.

...and regarding the newcomers and their rudeness: everyone of us was a newcomer at the time and nobody was perfect as far as i can remember.

Waah. Part of me wants to crawl away and avoid confrontation and possible hard feelings resulting from such discussion, but I also want to stay here and thrash out my differences; despite the grievances I may have, I still like this place and want to get all I can from it, as well as give whatever I have to offer. So pardon me if I seem to be waffling here.

quote:

He has constantly stalked me and insulted me, even going as far as basically saying he wanted to rape me. I'm not going to forget or forgive that easily. He's also insulted just about every well liked and decent member of this club, and I find that far more unforgivable then his abuse of me. I've never done anything to cause his dislike of me, and I've tried to treat him the same as anyone else; with respect. But apparently he doesn't have the capacity to recognise that; and eventually I gave up and tried to flat out ignore him.

Shady by himself does not greatly bother me. What does bother me is that Shady, with all his rude, insulting, and offensive ways, is backed up and supported by the club leadership. That indicates a quiet approval of his behavior, perhaps even an agreement with his views.

quote:
Second: arguing on internet is like running on special olympics: nobody wins. You should be aware that people will have different opinions from yourself and be able to handle that in a mature manner.

Don't know if that was aimed at me or not, but it's a good point anyhow...

I try to avoid getting into arguements and heated discussions on the internet; I find that it's much easier to misjudge peoples' tone and expression when you're lacking the visual or audio contact, and it is far too easy to unintentionally offend. However, some discussions are unavoidable, and I can put up a good fight when I have to. I try to respect other's opinions, and I expect others to do the same to me. What I don't tolerate is abusive attacks on other people's views; going past the issue to attack the opponent's personal ideals, their personality, race, or gender. Sadly, that sort of behavior is what I have seen here often; that is what upsets me. Even if I don't participate in the discussion, I've often enough witnessed that sort of abuse.

quote:
Third: I won't bring up Yellowhair case cause gender is not an issue

Heya, I should hope not. It's been rather odd being the only female here, but on the whole I rather enjoy it. I don't mind the teasing or joking; heck, even the occasional "marriage proposal" is amusing. I'm not at all pro-feminist, and most of the things said only amuse me; however, sometimes people do go too far.

It can be summed up in one word; respect. I suppose it is asking a bit much; but this club, and the world in general, would be a much better place if all people treated those around them with a measure of respect. Even if you don't agree with someone, even if you heartily dislike them, you can still show them respect and honor, and avoid hard feelings caused by insulting their views and position. It's good to try to understand the other person; you can debate more easily with someone if you're friends with them, if you know their background and personality, their ideals and morals... and chances are that the debate will be more profitable if it's on a level above petty insulting.

Now as far as this...and btw impaler this is not going against what you said. BUT here is the thing i have always wondered...and i spoke briefly with Midknight about this on Vent the other night..and for me saying this i am not trying to be harsh but i know we all feel this same way...at least most of us, and since now i am a minor, i want to say what has been bothering me for the longest time, i apologize in advance if im coming off sideways...

Shady IS a minor of the club, and yes he IS part of the LCC community. BUT why is it that he is allowed to break basically EVERY rule of LCC in the Constitution...and by qoute:

"§ 1.2. Let enemies feed freely between matches, as this furthers the Good Fight..."

"§ 1.5. A stowed weapon ("sword up") implies spectatorship, and spectators shall be treated as civilians."

Along with general respect to others in the LCA...between his bantering insults, as well as actions be allowed to do - and get away with it all...when we all know that IF any other person on here did this stuff, that person would be Kicked, Banned, Dismembered so on???

Here is the thing in all seriousnous...i know you cant ban someone for being a poor sport or lamer, no problem there, but why create "Rules" if there not going to be followed?!...now if the whole club never followed them, ok fine remove the rules...no point in fighting against an army, but 1 individual is easier to remove than many.

Thats all there is to my point there is just no reason he should be backed up in any form, or be tolerated to the extent.

Either way i have just wanted to say that for the longest time...have been biting my tung, take it how you want...i just wanted you guys to know my feelings on "issues"

Take care.

Eraser Beer

p.s Whatever you guys say in response to this i will gladly accept, and if the opposite opinion i have no problem with it, just like i said we all have our opinions.

The following is not Club edict, it's my own opinion on comportment around this place:

To follow the guidelines of The Constitution are a choice. That's what's so beautiful about this place. We're not an RoV server with this huge list of rules on the MOTD that MUST be adhered to. We don't give banning priveledges to every five year old in the club so that they can take pleasure in banning the other five year olds in the Rune universe. (heh, Runiverse?)

Point is, you can play however you want, as long as it's not harmful to the game as a whole. (ie servercrashing) So two kids team up and are being goofy jackasses. Fight them! That's a challenge that I wouldn't mind undertaking. If it's too annoying, just go into the 1on1 ring until they run out of guys to team up on. (oh now they're sitting in the 1on1 ring refusing to fight each other..) Well! Go back into the FFA room!

I can hear the retorts, "but Mano, they're ruining our fun!" No, you're ruining your own fun by getting so worked up over a couple of 8 year olds with a PC.

I'll tell you what isn't fun. Being assholes to every new person that walks through the door until we run out of people to play with. That's not fun.

hey Imp!
earlier this thread you asked where I am.... funny thing that.
I did not know until just now that Red Carpet still existed. I truly do live in a small pocket dimension these days lol.
Read my post in general on "just ta let ya know" for full details as to my (temporary) abscence.
Slowly but surely I am getting less mad and more in need of some "gf's", so I may be back in action very soon. Yarrrrrr even if it means risking another re-install Frown.
ps I think actually "everyone" wins in the special olympics hehe. Wink

I can't believe what I just heard on Ventrilo. We are having a group of members and minors leaving LCC for the fact of Lamers. OH my GOD and they accused me of being for laming and what not. I am really really really pissed off. This isn't what I want to be seeing from members that I have started to grow a friendship with. I thought some of you were better then that. They are accusing some of us as being like ROV in that we allow laming to take part. I don't know about you but I have played many a game online and there seems to be a 1 in 3 people who are lamers. You can't escape that fact that people out there want to use games as a stress relief method or for anger managment. Those are just some things that show who a lamer really is. Also they are poor losers and would rather cheat there way to become the best which in all in all makes them starve for more accomplishment in looking good which promotes more laming. I am getting very sick and tired of all the whine in the club and am running out of cheese.
Grow the fuck up and become better orientated with promoting good online gameplay for yourselves. Who gives a damn if someone is laming. You lame back to them. If you can't do that I guess you aren't paying enough attention to the lamer. So why bother complaining.

To those who have played me.

Tell me, what kind of person I am?

Tell me, how I play?

Tell me who you look towards as a follower when you first came to the arena?

Tell me how do you think it makes the person who promoted you to a minor or membership feel? (I am not feeling very well about my votes and sponsorships I have given.)

Tell me who laid out the rules (not laws) of the server.

Tell me who plays for fun? (I bet there are a few who play for stress and anger managment)

Tell me in all your time on the server have you really been out numbered or are you just weak to the fact that you need someone else from the club to help you.

Another thing is where is everyone in the club? I will tell you. We are getting our lives going and with that takes away our time to enjoy playing along side our international friends. I am missing this very much and would like more time to do more with all of you. But I have a very heavy course load and with that I want life outside of the box and into the real world. I check the forum everyday and everynight. I want a members/minors game night. I want a chat and discussion group. I want this club for what it is to come closer and show that this game can last a decade. (Even if Rune 2 comes out I want us to stick together)

Its a game, play it and enjoy what you have because the way you are going about thinking of leaving is really going to reflect on the person you are. I can't stand losing friends. I really can't stand it when they leave for a very very stupid reason.

I'm going to be blunt here. If they're going to be like that, fuck `em

If they want to put our name down, say shit about us. So be it, give me names and we can dole out the demotions. I'm sick and tired of the backtalk of a certain 'knitting circle' of members and minors. You guys are the assholes that have been making the club's Rune experience miserable lately.

Quit the bullshit and fucking quit if you're going to be like that.

Midknight, give me some names and I'll take care of the god damned bizwhack.

No, Manowar, we're not. The rude people - the same sort of person that pulls out in front of you while you are driving - that are now being allowed to practice their laming and their ill manners upon everyone else, and in fact those in power who have decided to allow this travesty of swordplay in Low Caliber servers, are those who have been making the club go down the toilet. Manowar, I used to really enjoy my Low Caliber experience under your control, when laming was laming and a kickable offense, and the rude people didn't stay for long. But then people said that you were too "hairtrigger," (an offense of which I have also been accused, with more frequency and perhaps with more truth) and all of a sudden, you turn into a bleeding hippy. And so we are forced to allow the kiddies to walk all over us. Suddenly you cannot get a good, friendly fight anymore, unless another member happens to be on. And do you know something? It sucks.

It's all very well trying to pin the "Big Bad Wolf" badge on us, but we don't "scare off" every Tom, Dick and Harry that pops in. We don't even scare off every person who comes in and lames a bit. We only "scare off" the people that come in and repeatedly show that they do not care about others enough to show an ounce of courtesy and that they feel that they are above the rules. And, with the exception of the officers, no one will miss those sort of people. As I said, they are the ones making Low Caliber suck.

I promise you that when I and any others that protest loudly are gone, the club's Rune experience will not get any better (except perhaps for the lamers; Shady comes to my mind). Because, we're not the problem. It's them and, indirectly, your decisions, that are the problem.

As a side note, this thread is hilarious. It starts out with a (probably sincere) post asking us to air our differences, and ends with membership removals for, confusion of confusions, airing differences. All right, I'll admit that I didn't air them in a very non-confrontational way, and I won't say that I wasn't expecting this to happen. But it still makes one say "What the fuck?" concerning the club - again.

Midknight, I'm really quite sorry to have to offend you like this, because I quite like you as a person and as a player. However, I simply cannot abide your policies and those of the other officers. I also hate to see you regret sponsoring me, but remember this. I didn't change; the club did. Midknight, if you ever feel like wrapping things up or anything, well, you have my Microsoft Instant Messanger address. So, whatever...

First off, excuse me for that post last night. I just got in from the bar. Beer Unfortunately, it lacked diplomacy. Even more unfortunate is that my post had lots of truth to it.

Instead of talking shit behind someone's back for months and letting a situation fester, you guys should've mentioned something to me or whomever else you had a problem with. I thought everyone was closer than that.

I still would like to work out differences with whomever has a problem with who. If you're going to leave, bow out gracefully instead of leaving with your tail between your legs. (or better yet with a boot mark in your ass)

I have been having this feeling of members and minors having a disgruntle look towards something in the club for as long as I had the feeling from my girlfriend. I made this post because I want to know what the hell is going on. Well if these people want to leave I would seriously like seeing the old group get back together like it was April 2003. The only group that seems to understand the fun of a game and the true meaning of a good sport and fair play. Doing what they are is quite chilish and lack there of for showing respect to the club. If you want to move on to your Diablo and other games do so and do it politly. I don't bother using our facilities to play them anymore.

Sheesh... this is the sort of thing I'm talking about. So what if we disagree... no reason to start insulting or threatening the other person. Especially if they're your friends.

quote:

People have complained before... but nothing seems to get resolved here. And that tends to encourage "behind the back" discussion. That's not always bad; the sharing of experiences and ideas with like-minded people can be profitable... even if it can be considered a sort of gossip. If some people won't listen to you, you have the right to try to find others that will, and once there's a majority of people with the same opinion maybe other people will take notice. Though there's a subtle distinction between a delegation and a riot.

I apologize for being, more or less, a part of the faction that insulted you, Midknight. They have a point, in much of what they're saying... but, that's not the way to go about it.

For the record, I am not among those who would leave solely because of lamers. Actually I don't think that is the main reason for any of this... the issues go deeper then that.

Now what I want to know is, are the Officers genuinely interested in our input... or will you just take the easier route, and either ignore us or throw us out the door "with a boot mark in our ass." I think this is something that can be resolved if we work at it, at least to some degree. But I'd like to see some answers here. The real issues aren't being looked at, from what I can see.

Yes.

The complaints have only just recently been coming to my attention. They've obviously been a problem for quite some time. Forgive me if I ignore the SHADY complaints, they're rather tired.

hey earlier it was mentioned that it is yay/nay/abstain for voting.....
Can I be taken off the voting list then and still be a member? I will of course still voice my opinion if I feel strongly about it, but honestly I trust the "upper management" to make the right decisions with or without my input. I really dislike the thought of my apathy causing a deserving member to be denied as I do not place a lot of importance on the voting. Please do not think less of me, as I have an explanation! I live in Canada and here we are pretty laid back.
I have yet to vote ( for real vote ) because I LIVE IN CANADA!!!!!!!! It is soooooooo much better here than in many other places in the world that me voting for one x or the other seems a joke. Maybe if I lived in a Mexican ghetto I would be more political, but as it stands we have it pretty good here (in Canada ). This may have something to do with voting in LCC or it may not, but it does explain my reasons for not worrying about votes so much. As always I am a tad B@|<3|) so if this is confusing to any let me know. Dammit now I'm confused.... oh wait I was b4 and will be again!
