Dude uninstall that pop-up stopper. Thats what Alexa is. Clean out your cookies and temp internet files. If you want a different pop-up stopper I have one for ya. Post your decision.

The Alexa one is that pop-up stopper.

This is how you should delete the .dll files properly. It is a spyware/sub-seven/trojan/virus type program. Might explain your curse de Midknight BSOD crap.
Before you can delete the DLLs Searchex installs, you must deregister them. To do this, open a DOS command prompt (from Start->Programs->Accessories) and enter, for the HomePage variant:

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u IEBrw.dll
regsvr32 /u HomePage.dll
Or, for the Hotlink variant:

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u IEBrw.dll
regsvr32 /u HmePge.dll
regsvr32 /u Hotlink.dll
You can then restart and delete the files IEBrw.dll and either HomePage.dll or HmePge.dll and Hotlink.dll from the System folder (Windows\System under Windows 95/98/Me, or Windows\System32 under Windows NT/2000/XP).

Finally, reset your homepage (Internet Options->General->Start page) and search settings (Internet Options->Programs->Reset Web Settings).
