sometimes i'd like to leave a message for another member, but dont need it to stick around like a new post...
so would a "whiteboard" idea be possible for this website?
i leave a message, and then whoever the message was for can read it and reply or delete it...then the message can all be dumped from the cache after a coupla weeks...

it'd be convenient especially given that we're pretty global i would say, and members are often on at different times of day and week...

That would be great but I think we would have to get into CSS and XHTML scripting which I am currently monkeying with. HEHEHE So who knows I might be able to bring something up.

Make a graphic of a note pad and have the message on it using xhtml code.

whoa, went over my head there...yeah sorry, i'm often guilty of spouting stuff without full understanding the implicit difficulties...

yeah....if all else fails, just have a section "rambling and yammering" and just delete that cow every month? even a section where people can just fair dinkum whatever they want...

Na the CSS/XHTML layout would be nice with a intra chat/ Message board to members. Public would have there own posting board also. But with that we need to have a moderator for the public.

Couldn't you just integrate a private message option like so many other message boards have?

Example: If I wanted to say "I shall be your unmaking!!" to AE, I would click on a Private Message button at the top of the forum which would lead to a list of all the registered people on the forum. I would then click on Ancient_Evil which would take me to a textbox where I submit my message.
Next time AE logs onto the forum, he would see a little mail icon beside "MyPop", click it, and see the message certifying his ultimate doom.

A little note that officers could put up and change accordingly, that the entire site would be able to view.

yeah something in the vein of wfu's and rey's shoutboxes would do away with a lot of chatty posts and 2-post threads...

an idea for the annoucements would be to have a box similar to that with a note saying "Be sure to check out our new ladder" etc...

how about announcing the new people who've registered to the site? i'm really curious when that little number up in the top right hand corner goes up...

gives me a chance to kinda see who's interested in low-cal...
