Life isn't fair...

I lost a good friend in a car accident, what a shame. He was a helluva guy, would never dream of harming anyone. He was hit by a drunk driver.

Drinking and driving ain't cool.

That sucks dude, i can relate i lost my cousin 2 weeks ago. I dont think i will ever learn to cope with death, it's just one of those things that never seems fair, even if they are in a better place.

It's hardest to cope when it's someone young like that, yanno? My granny died over the summer and I was okay with it because she was over 80 and had severe alzheimers.

That night, I drove past the police cars and ambulance... not knowing they were for my friend.

You're right about that.

A few of the locals around here probably heard of it already, but there were 4 kids packed in a 2 seater that all just died up here. I didn't know them, but they left my buddy's house about an hour before the crash. Fortunately (??? ) they didn't harm anyone but themselves, but yeah the designated driver who was driving when they left wasn't driving when they crashed. Drunk driving is the lame. Controlling peoples drinking is hard enough, controlling whether or not they drive is near impossible. Alas, with modern laws (in Canada anyway) we have something called "duty of care". If a person leaves my pub and kills someone, I can be held partly (fully if I'm bad/un-careing) responsible for their actions. Even if I don't serve someone, and they enter our establishment drunk, I am then responsible for their safety. It sure puts a lot of stress on me, but for the most part people are responsible/lucky enough so far. (knock on wood)

My condolences anyway for what it's worth. I personally think if ya get caught behind the wheel and you are impaired... well no more driving for you! People need to be taught a lesson, and so far we (humanity...) seem unable to learn from other people's mistakes.

I am sorry to hear that Mano and Rox. My condolences go to you and everyone effected by these events of life. I to am still effected by a turn of events with death. A family friend was murdered and on that same day my family and I saved two of three people from drowning infront of our house. It truly is a sad thing to happen to us as humans to lose one of our own even if we never knew them.

I'm very sorry for you. I know how it feels to lose a relative. I lost my cousin last year. He commited suicide. Although I didn't know him that much, but it hurt a lot. the worst thing was the funeral you stand in front of the casket, knowing that there is a tattered and torn corpse inside

A family friend committed suicide last week.
To all who knew him, he had a stellar trajectory, before and behind him.

It is crazy sad to see all this tragedy happening in just this small group.
I don't really know what more to say besides I feel for you and that I count myself lucky nothing like that has happened to the people around me...

My sympathy and prayers for you all. I lost one of my very best internet friends a couple months ago, after having watched her illness progress over at least a year, slowing wasting her away. A twenty-year old, died from complications due to heart transplant. Broke my own heart to hear of her death, but she was strong in spirit till the end.

Especially saddened to hear of the suicides. Such a waste of life, and a thoughtless act that hurts all who loved them. So selfish, so foolish, and yet so thoughlessly brave to face the unknown. Those who have life should cherish it; such a precious and precarious thing should not be lightly thrown away.

Ehh sorry but most of these hit too close to home.

I feel for ya. My bro got shipped off to iraq a week agoe and he is front line emphatry, and he will gone for 2 years before i get to see him again. I hope he makes it hes my old bro i have.
