Well, just wanted to keep this here for the time being, partly for the following reason.
Personally, I have a sense of belonging to the club and associating with the people I've met here that is rooted in, yet can be said to transcend RUNE.
Thus I view other games as momentary delights, but with the right people, I don't think I would mind going off for a short wander.
Well, other people are venturing in little groups to other games, yet using the ventrilo server and these forums: namely Diablo LOD, some FPSs, etc.

So the question is, what do people play and like, in terms of multiplayer online?

Personally, I'd go for Heretic 2 but that will be unpopular with the kids.
Otherwise, I have played Neverwinter Nights in recent times.
And in the past, I have tried the following online games:
Diablo 1 & 2, Warcraft, Starcraft and expansions, Quake, CounterStrike.

I had expectations for TRON, but it hasn't worked out. Also, Jedi Academy wasn't quite enough for me - the Quake engine and melee-play felt a bit cartoony and somewhat inelegant.

Quite frankly, I have better ideas and interest in RUNE and present modding/mapping projects discussed on forum and on vent; but these recent developments mentioned above have struck me. And having talked it out a bit with a couple of people, I wanted to clarify somewhat and hear from others.

Hmmm... well, right now the only games I've been playing are Rune and Diablo LOD... both of these games don't especially interest me in the single player mode, but they're great fun when you're playing online with friends; namely people from Low Cal.

Other games I have enjoyed in the past, and might drag out and play again if other people are interested in them, are Age of Kings and Operation Flashpoint...


I haven't played Rune much since I got LOD, but that's mainly because the LC servers have been down or lagging to death recently.

Same as Yellow except add in Unreal, Half-life, Ghost Recon, Baldur's Gate I and II w/expansions, Icewind Dale I and II w/expansions, and Iron Storm. All these are played online, seldom do I play then solo.

Oh by the way Dante, I'll play Heretic II with you. I just gotta find the damn disc, heh.

I've got it, Fais; but for some reason, my Radeon card and winXP might be having troubles with it; I used to run it fine on Banshee and a P350 with win98.

I'll put it onto a snail's backpack for you sometime, once I get it somewhat juicing.

Diablo got boring once I got all my chars above lvl 70 . . .

I play War3x, Cstrike, Day of Defeat, Starcraft, Rune, and various other online games. Just gettin into SOF2 and Americas Army/Ops Flashpt.
