I have had a bit of time to read these here forums, but no time to play or post. I also am going through some Major changes in my life for the next little while. I have made a play to switch to daytime bartending instead of all nights. If management goes for it then yay! If not, well who knows what I will do . I have been closing the pub for the last 4 years (almost 5 now! ) and it's time for a change o' pace. In this here new year I will be getting back into mapping again...
I spent New Year's in Whistler!!!! What a blast but Holy Expensive!!!! For those of foreign countries Whistler is one of Canada's best Ski resorts and will be hosting some Winter Olympics in 2010. New years eve you had to pay a cover to get into the Village (they fence it off! ) and every bar had a MINIMUM!!! $100 cover charge! Fortunately I was up there for musical reasons as well as Holidaying, so as they say "Like, I'm with the DJ". No silly cover charge when yer the entertainment . I went ZipTrek'ing for the first time too!! What a rush! It's 5(seperate) 1/4 inch stainless steel cables strung between Whistler and Blackomb mountains. You get a "sit down harness" (like a 5 point harness but comfy) with a pulley attached and you clip on the cable and go to the other mountain!!!! It was about 150-200 feet above a river and the longest line was 1100 feet!
The closest I've ever come to flying, and I cannot recommend it enough. The ony comparison I can fathom is it's like Horizontal bungee jumping.

Well.... for now I got one shift switched. I traded Monday night for Monday day. That means I close Sunday and open Monday, but it also means I get off work Mon @ 6 and don't work till Friday night! Now that's my kinda weekend! I almost have my life in thirds now. Work/sleep/play should always be even, or one of them might win!!!!

ps mega-sorry to those of you who must work lots more than I do (eg. Dante) , but I HAVE to be nice to self-induced retards to make my cash. It may sound fun, and it mostly is, but I deal with the worst too .

I'm also in the industry. I understand totally. Coodos (??Cudos??) whatever... to you for getting the shifts you want. I'm glad your back. I got tons to talk to you about, concerning the editor and mapping. Things I've learned and questions you might be able to answer.
