Oh and IMICI in Linux hates me, Mid... all it is is one file (no install) and you need to sign up for an IMICI account but their site is down, I think they're dead. And GAIM 0.75 is being a biatch to install and so is GTK+ (why always me having the problems?), even though I installed every dependencie (wihch some for some reason still have problems) sooo... looks like no MSN for Linux....

yes yes... i really like linux, but i'm glad to have my win xp back, 'cause all the stuffe i seriously use doesn't want to work with linux.

I'm going to be switching to Linux when I get my new computer. I'll at least try it out for a good while; I'm so very fed up with Microsoft's unadulterated bullshit. I think the last straw for me was finding out that you need a new hundred dollar (I'm being uncharacteristically optimistic) copy of Windows every time you switch motherboards, processors, or hard drives. But the primary reason is the very believable rumors about the next release of Windows. Spyware galore, and the mark of the beast...?

Oh, and I hope someone bombs the Recording Industry Association of America. Like, now...

Pfft do NOT put Linux on your new PC, that's just dumb (sorry). I got mine with two 20gb hdds (240gb if I mount mine...) and a 600mhz cpu with a Geforce4, its the old PC (which is crapping out, lately it can't even find the hdds most of the time but whatever) and its running just plain fine. Midknight is el mucho rad for getting me off Redhat and fetching Mandrake Linux 9.2, 'tis perfect.

If only things weren't such a pain to install when I have met all the dependencies for it, etc, what a pain in the butt. Otherwise, beautiful OS, it just will never be on here because of obvious reasons. Then again, its my parent's PC and they dig it because they only want games (Solitaire... TuxRacer...Frozen Bubble ), mail, and internet... I for one prefer not to settle with Linux as my main PC, but damn its fun.
