You know its one thing to have a computer its another to keep it a float. I haven't caught the bug myself but many people are and it annoys the fuck out of me. Last summer the blaster worm and now the Sasser Worm. Microsoft better clean up the fuck holes they leave behind for these trojans/worms/virii to get through. When they keep saying Windows 2000/XP home and Pro are safe they aren't they are a huge target and they leave all doors open. Once they aren't supporting Windows 2000 I am off to Linux because I am not going to have my computer on there big brother monitor 24/7 365 all year round. Its called privacy something thats suppose to be safe and only for the eyes viewing not the asshole admins to the Inter-Web.

Suggestion to those that haven't. Update MicroSux and update your antivirus software to current date virus definitions. This worm is supposivly harmless to the system but annoying as hell with anonymous restarts. Another suggestion is to turn off that blooding restore manager on Windows ME and Windows XP. The restore program is the most useless piece of shit software out there and it just makes more trouble then it does good. If you are in need of tech. help contact your local GURU or ask me for help.

Have fun reading this, friends:

Or ask Pencil? Pencil=Windows Power User, as well, damnit Smile.

About Blaster, never got it because of my router, but I was at Pete's that day and as I tried to play Motocross Madness, msblast.exe kept killing it with its silly restart. Now common sense people, if your PC actually restarted when this happened, the "shutdown -a" command in RUN or a DOS prompt easily aborts the shutdown, and the same goes for SASSER. You just update your AV, get all the M$ Security Patches, and there's nothing to complain about. I, for one, didn't get SASSER or BLASTER, and won't considering I use enough sense to not be such a lazy-ass and update Windows...

People (not Middie), don't complain about getting attacked in this way from the worms or anything of the sort because you don't run Windows Updates ever... they're there for a reason. People talk about Linux for security, but who says Linux updates itself? Consider that Windows XP SP1 is like the jump from Mandrake 9.0 to 9.2, and like RedHat or whatever distro you use, there's updates for security purposes and such, use them before bitching. And obviously I update and whatnot, but there's still much to bitch about, Middie is correct in how M$ leaves all these fucking doors open (to spy on j00), it is pretty horrible. However, I find that Win2000 is a P.O.S. compatibility-wise, etc., as I have had experience with it and find XP to be perfect as opposed to the prior versions... with all this shit I do on here, I have my doubts I'm being spied on, sorry, or else I'd be pretty close to being raided Razz. So I intend to stick with my wonderfully stripped-down WinXPSP1 and never downgrade or upgrade, no reason not to upgrade to XP (especially for what I do, considering 2000's SHIT compatibility) and no reason to ever go above XP yet, either.

And again about worms... do these fucks just stay there forever?! I mean, we go to install WinXP on Pete's PC again, the second he gets online then leaves it alone and starts fixing up Winblows he's getting hammered by msblast! Is there no way to stop the thing forever, especially so when people just want to install an OS safely for once?! Pretty fucky.

I do believe I have said enough, ja.

So, has anyone been fucked over by the Sasser worm yet? Just remember if you do, type "shutdown -a" in RUN (WinKey+R) to suppress it, then run your Windows Updates and live free. Also, when Pete got this worm, we tracked it to a Cindy something, must be a pawn, huh? Has a website and all, here:

[2005] @Pete: http://www.blackcode.com/net-tools/index.php revolve the ip 4.250.66.71
[2007] @David: Cindy Soulia?
[2007] @Pete: connected to me on port 3700
[2008] @David: for what?
[2008] @Pete: I don't know
[2008] @David: slsk!1!111
[2008] @Pete: I didn't have anything running that was odd
[2012] @Pete: http://arin.net/
[2012] @Pete: that's who was connecting, they were on that network

And yes, according to what we deducted, the person's connection was indeed a result of the Sasser worm... go figure. May be wrong, you decide.

Now I'm done Smile.

LOL!!!!

Windows 2000's compatiblity I wish you would expand on that. What for games? software? server? office use? WHAT? I find everything I have done except for Adobe Premiere is compatible and for Premiere I don't need it I use After Effects.

Oh if this Sasser decides to restart and not give you a 2:00 minute limit to do the Run command just let it restart its couple times then come into Windows then go to Run and type msconfig then go to startup and disable the avserve2.exe or skynetave.exe. then restart and then update your systems security and what not from microsofts updates. Then update your antivirus.

If your anti-virus license ran out just ask for my help I will guide you through the steps to delete that MOFO.

oh ya btw. Linux is safe dude. The only updates are for the pre-installed programs. The only holes are those of the beta and RC beta types of the distro you download for whatever disto. The only large hole found was in Debian's version of Woody 3.0 which was corrected over a night and updated to 3.01RC.

Linux security is the users responsibly btw. So better get crackin on that firewall.

Fark yes it is safe. And I am very aware of what you speak of, what I meant was that one should think of Windows' crappy updates as the Linux betas, etc.... but to a lesser extent. They don't need shitty little updates that come out in huge messy chunks (Where the fuck is WinXPSP2?), whereas M$ has a ton of those updates and, yet, look at how they're still getting beat up. Although, Middie, you said this security patch is quite old, the one that stops Sasser... so it is definitely the user's responsibility to do it themselves but uh, most Windows users are completely fucking oblivious to anything and bring all attacks upon themselves (is why they're all still using IE6).

About Win2000 and compatibility, I suppose I said enough about it on MSN, it is just that I am not comfortable with the OS and find WinXP to be a dream for me..... although I don't fully trust M$ for both obvious and other unseen reasons (which is why I call them M$, right?).

Oh oh, and about the AntiVirus, if you are not using Norton Antivirus Corporate 8 (or at least 7), then get yourself on the bandwagon now. There's no need for another AV, ever, can't beat this thing... do yourselves a favor and ask for a copy from WinkXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXWink something you won't regret. Settle for nothing more or less Smile.

I have to pee now.
