I would say many Americans would pick German as a language to learn. We have many Spanish speaking citizens here so Spanish is another language people like to learn. French is offered at local high schools (along with spanish) but many don't offer German. I think more people would rather learn German than French...

in class 8 i had to choose between french and russian as a second language... i took russian... it was the biggest mistake i ever made! russian is not difficult because of the letters. its difficult because of the grammar! fortunately i only have to learn it one more year!

why is german culture interesting for you?

Always forget that damn "s" (too many consonants in a line . . .) Germany is like the source of barbarians and dark forests and warlords and really kewl shit. Not to mention being part german increases my enthusiasm. I would like to learn a lot of languages (20 or so?) and German is my first second language.

The German culture is interesting to me because of my background. I want to learn more and live that cultural life style. It is one of the most intriguing cultures in this world.
