Question:
I've been getting irritated by the jump swing. However, I'm not going to preach on the evils of jump swinging. I just want to know how many people like and dislike this. Perhaps we could persuade Unter to disable it?

Choices:
The jump swing stinks. It's a high caliber tactic, and it's almost exploiting a bug in the game. Besides, it just plain bugs the crap out of me.
I love jump swinging! What better way is there to finish off your opponent than by launching a virtually unavoidable attack upon him? And it looks great into the bargain.

it should stay, it's part of the game.

If you don't like the jump swing pull out the ol' bone club, `tis a fine weapon for striking opponents in flight.

It's true, Rhoedd, the jump swing is easily defeatable. Ask me sometime, I'll show you how.

Agree... it's a newbie tactic, easily predictable and fairly easy to defeat.

Jump swing is fun cuz you get to decapitate people with a low caliber weapon and alot of people dont know how to avoid it so its fun to see them get pissed off Cool

it's a beautiful flourish and if used well in ffa, as surprising sometimes in combat as the occasional decpaitation with a short sword...

what i think you're annoyed by is the fact that the avatars can seem to do it endlessly...so i guess constructively, rather than remove an essential feature of the game experience itself, is to suggest an "endurance" concept to it, ie you can jump-spin say only once every few seconds, until some 'jump' bar gets replenished...

but as you can see from the above posts, learning to deal with it is probably even more constructive than changing code, as you're not always going to meet someone who plays 'your' rules and 'your' style..

Thats a fabulous idea dante i love the jumpswing as you know but i can see how it can be unfair at times if done repetitivley. Maybe once every other jump?

i dunno, just seems like you're messing with the integrity of the game by changing stuff like that.

Jump spinners in low cal make me laugh... really easy to kill anyhow. It only works with high cal weaps.

hey guys i'm never annoyed by jump-swingers...so don't worry kyrox, you go ahead and do your thing..it's actually quite nice and almost like those hong kong martial arts flicks, hehe...
i know some other lcc dudes do it nicely too, like a rhythm..

i'm just putting up that suggestion cos it's an attempt to deal with whats perceived as a problem rather than force people to play a certain way...and i'm addressing the idea, not translating any real interpersonal stuff, ok?

but even what i suggested is still more totalitarian rather than discretionary...

i'd rather we're not all robots. besides, there's no palpable advantage in a jump-spin; and there's no real need to "level the playing field"..

ps i've been reading too much italics recently, so it's rubbing off..
