Outstanding concept.

I understand freedom of speech and it's a wonderful creative process, but I wonder how easily it can be vandalised? For instance, I was able to add/edit stuff in Mano's sections on tutorials. I know if I made mistakes or was wrong in doing so, it's not going to be a problem because we understand each other and can discuss things through.

So apologies in advance, I'm quite into editing and "fine-tuning". I'd also hope for people to edit things I've entered - leave an "updated by..." (for example). It's all part of the process and I'd be fascinated to see how different/similar viewpoints are.

lol, Dant', feel free to clean up anything I did. I never like the way things turn out the first time I write them anyhow.

That goes for anyone, feel free to clean up my shite.

But yes, I worry about potential vandalism. I think it can be set up that only the author and/or members and minors can edit things. That would probably work perfectly.

P.S. Nice job, it looks great.

Ah thanks, Mano. Just excited about the whole thing; but really just minor additions here and there.

Yes, perhaps periodically have a backed-up version somewhere or else would need to approve registration for those wanting to edit. But we'd like to see it "free", right?

Also, just found how the 'current events' section in wiki can be a 'whiteboard', and the 'private messenging' (but really public) system over in wiki. What do people want to use?
Reason I ask, is that it sounded from some threads that Infopop is being somewhat difficult? How is wiki related to Infopop? Separate database, etc?

That's the wiki spirit, Dant': merciless redaction.  Pages can be reverted, if need be, and their vandals banned; take a look at the page history.

User_talk for directed messages; current events for public ones.

LowCalWiki is under our own jurisdiction.

Yes, really getting a feel for it now that I've played around a bit since the start of this thread.

Hah! Wish we had somewhat a transcript of Ventrilo talks with lots of the regular bunch; some pretty spontaneous, defining shizz in those..

BTW, Dant'; the stub you started for Low Caliber is classic: good basis for future work.

The complete article will probably include some historical account; but above all, to capture the principle and flesh of LowCal.

Yes!

Test your skills in the sandbox if you're unfamiliar with a wikipedia. It'll come easy to ya.
