A blast; two things: sink the balls, and don't stow your club! (yet)

It's not that bad playing by yourself, either. Just played a game, somebody joined and chased me around flinging his club. Then I accidently stowed mine...

Skolf tips :

Aim with your left shoulder for drives, i find that helps alot and so do others that i tell about it

the closer your skull gets the less far it flys so just wack it even when your close it wont fly far...

Kill people when they are by the hole and jack their skulls!!! Huuwah!

I think we need three clubs: a driver, a seven iron and a putter.

Might need to come up with a compromise on the killing.. couldn't stand people that came in and didn't play, just killed.

Two words: Water Hazard Thumbs Up

Overall, my review is fantastic. This could be a lot of fun, lol.

Fantastic; we're still in the beta stage, so everything's up for grabs.  Faison mentioned he wanted to see multiple clubs; though with the current settings, even our one is amazingly versatile.

A thought: the division of labour.  We could have putters and defenders with large irons; that might make for a good team dynamic.

Up next: the ability to aim the ball according to your line of site; even balls that bounce do damage; fix the stow!

True; but now that I think about it: Skolf would make a natural team game.  In that case, spawnkillers would have their place.

In team Skolf, there would be three distinct zones: spawn (drive) zone, middle (defensive) zone, and far (score) zone.

Fantastic division of labour.

how about you can only be killed if within x-distance of the skull/ball? This elminates random killing... i.e. you can only get killed when attempting to move the ball.

Tons of people are playing this... it's still in beta and they all like it. I think it's a hit Thumbs Up

great idea Manowar...one thing i was gonna add, but i have a feeling this idea was mentioned, i know someone said about using Driver, 7 iron, and Putter, you obvivously could control the "stowing" of clubs based on the RUNE schimatics, i.e we know the hammers do more damage so maybe make the Driver based on Hammer, 7 Iron based on Axe, and Putter based on Sword? so with what Mano said about x-distance so on, the harder the skull is hit and further from target would in turn do damage like the "weapons" as well as control how powerful the hit is? ...if this makes sense?

Again just thoughts

Cheers

Hey, got to check out the new map and I love it. The fighting thing gets out of hand at times, but yeah.. once you get into a frenzy you can take advantage of other's shots (Easier with only 3 players). I dig practicing my drive when alone in the game. It would be neat if there was no killing and you could compete based on par. I dont know how you would come about coding par count. The fairway does seem to be harder to swing at the skull. Making a nokill walled zone at the spawn/driving range would be good though. That's not hard to create.
The teams thing seems neat.. kinda soccer (football) thing. I was practicing my drive and hit a skull a little too far out but wanted to still drive it, so I smacked it back to the spawn area where it bounced off the wall and back at me. I jumped to see if I could hit it and I did. It bounced back to the wall and I was able to hit it again before it went sailing to one side. I could easily see implementing this into a racketball (squah) type game.. try even tennis. (mabye you'd have to slow down the ball a bit, make it more bouncy).
Great work on the map. I hope to see a full 18 holes soon, heh. The water thing would be neat. Really hard to get the ball out though. A sand pit would rock. More Rolling Topography! and a lighter colored Green. Maybe model a flag for the hole as well.
Having 3 clubs for the range, fairway, and green would be a neat idea. Using different weapon attributes would be helpful. The stow thing is kinda annoying, I'm glad the issue has been pinpointed though.
All in all a great development and I wish you the best of luck on further refinements.
